Garmin Sport PRO Bundle, Dog Training Collar and Handheld, 1handed Training of Up to 3 Dogs, Tone and Vibration

Garmin have always been top-notch products and this collar is no different. I have a GSP and this collar was much better than one of the cheaper options I had previously purchased on Amazon (it quit working after 6 months). This still works great and holds a long charge. It's super easy to use. My only comment would be that I wish the beep was louder like some of the experience collars that are used for hunting. Still, a great option that is less expensive than the premium models.

Awesome product - works like a charm. I won't take my dog outside without it. It gives him the needed freedom without needing to send him out on a farm. Quality is also amazing!

Great function, holds charge for long time, great and ideal size, easy to use, durable, waterproof (collar), long range! Very nice collar system. use it for my personal pets and the retrievers i train!

The three different alerts, Tone, then Vibe, then Shock are helpful. Using them in this order as you and your dog learn about the collar becomes intuitive and recognizable to the dog after only a short while. (7 to 14 days). My dog takes note of the tone and listens to audible commands. The vibe mode almost always causes him to return to me should the Tone not do so. And for those rare instances where tone and vibe do not get his attention, usually when another dog approaches, then the shock and an audible COME command will bring him back to my side. The variable intensity settings are helpful, 1 - 10. My dog responds well at setting 2. The light is also a great feature when walking evening or early morning. The collar should fit snug. Two fingers should fit very snugly under the collar. He should breathe and drink without restriction. And frequent swimming in a pond or the ocean has not affected the collar, and commands work as expected. My best friend is a 105 lb German Shepherd/Wolf hybrid and he does extremely well with the use of this collar. I can count on him to act appropriately even among multiple animals at the dog park. Get yourself a neck lanyard and take your dog anywhere, almost hands free. This is a wonderful collar training device!!

I waited 2 months to write this review to allow sufficent people time using this product. We have an almost 2yo lab. He is the best family dog ever but just has a ton of puppy energy. I have worked with him on training since we got him at 3months old. He knew all the basic commands and was reliable inside the house. The second we were outside all bets were off. He was generally well behaved but we drastically struggled with recall. I could not ever trust he would come when called and he would run off to other pets/people to play.I researched a lot of ecollars and how to use them/train with them. This ecollar has been the absolute best purchase ever. It took about 2 weeks and he was fully trained with recall. I trained him so that now he listens to us verbally and if he doesn’t, I use the beep function and he immediately comes. He will not run out of our yard without us(no fence) and he checks in often.Having an off leash dog is the best. He is so different using this collar. Just putting it on, it’s likeImmediate obedience with all commands he already knew. So far no batter issues, definitely easy to use.Make sure your dog is strong with your commands before trying to train on the ecollar. This was supplemental to what he already knew and just took his training up a notch.

As long as you get the contacts to get through the fur and touch your dog's neck, it works great. It is easy to use without looking at the remote, so I can keep my hands in my pockets if it's cold out. The battery on the remote lasts forever! The battery on the collar lasts a long time. The white LEDs are easy to see at night unless they get blocked by fur. The vibration is very gentle, so it's great for training the dog to use the collar. Be very careful when finding which stim level to use on your dog. My poor puppy didn't react at all. I kept upping the level, and she just lay down. I thought she couldn't feel it, so I kept increasing it. She did feel it but didn't know how to react, so she just laid down. Eventually, she yelped in pain, and I felt bad. I recommend using the vibration instead when first starting out. The bark collar mode can't be used if you are also using the remote. You must hold down or tap the buttons multiple times to get out of the bark collar mode and back into remote mode. You can also turn on the bark mode from the collar without using the remote. To turn it back off, you have to do it from the collar. On my 8-month-old German Shepherd puppy, I use level 3 stim for most everyday walks. I use higher levels if there are deer and many cars by, and I'm concerned she might try to chase the deer or run into traffic, etc. I've never had to go above 6 with her. Before I used it on my puppy, I tried it on my hand first, then my neck. Level 10 is not fun and would deter me from any behavior, but it isn't exactly "painful." It's extremely uncomfortable and makes your muscles tense up. I dropped the remote on a sidewalk from pocket level once, and it just scraped it up a bit in one spot, but it didn't do any real damage to the controller; it was just cosmetic. I only gave it four stars because it should come with a belt clip and lanyard. I don't know what Garmin was thinking when they designed the charger. It's like five pieces of old-style USB. It's weird and overly complicated. I don't know why. The accessories are crappy/lacking, but the actual remote and collar are nice. There are many aftermarket collars to replace the black buckle one that comes with this. The black buckle one is secure and waterproof but difficult to get on and off. In closing, it works great for giving me the confidence that if I need to get my dog to obey me in a sketchy situation, she will. I'm able to walk my dog off-leash, worry-free. Thanks Garmin!
