good cable good price
Considering the outrageous prices brick and mortar retailers charge for cables and connectors generally, I've taken to buying all these items on the web. I've found that the quality is at least as good and the price often 80% cheaper. I bought this in conjunction with an HDMI to HDMi cable and the total was 6 dollar or so plus shipping. By comparison, Best Buy wanted 30 dollars for just the HDMI cable. I see no reason to think that Best Buy can't afford to sell such things at a competitive price, so considering they don't, the online option is a no-brainer and I highly recommend it. The adapter works perfectly and allows me to take the HDMI output from a laptop and put it on a somewhat older Samsung monitor which only has VGA and DVI-D connections, via the DVI-D input. Works perfectly.

Works great
My old video card required the dvi-d connection to connect to my flat screen TV. When I got a new computer I lost an HDMI input. Solution: an adapter for $1.59, delivered free, can't beat it.

Perfect Adapter for Desktop DVI to TV HDMI
Works perfectly as intended. Running from desktop to hdtv with following setup.Graphics card with DMS-59 output > DVI-D Single Link splitter > this adapter (Monoprice 102081) > hdmi > Tv hdmi port.Did observe that the apater is a DVI-I Duel Link instead of DVI-D Single Link as noted in description. (See photo) This still worked fine though for my application.

Does what it needs to do.
Does what it needs to do at a great price. I gives me the option to move the monitor at distance I need with HDMI cable of whatever length.

Works as expected.
Nice build qualiy; it has a solid feel to it. It works. What more can I say? I had a Dell laptop for work, and used a displayport-to-DVI cable to hook it to a monitor. Then they put video conference rooms in at work, that used HDMI cables. So I got this adaptor, and used the cable I had. So the chain is displayport -> DVI -> HDMI.

It works, but is not for family use
Though this item was able to do what I wanted, the mention of female on female action upset my wife and my pastor. I would recommend that you use more traditional male to female plugs if possible.

HDMI adapter review
This is a great adapter - allowing the connection of an DVI-D plug onto an HDMI connection. I have a number of HDMI cables, HDMI projector, and now that most flat panel screens, DVD and satellite boxes come equipped with HDMI connections, this adapter came in very handy. It works well, connects positively and firmly and provides a good signal. Highly recommended.However - be sure you select the correct combination of plug gender.
