Perfect little adapter. But note that DVI does not carry audio signals from HDMI.
Perfect adapter for DVI-D to HDMI. The only small problem I had was on an older Westinghouse monitor that, for some reason, barely had any room for a standard DVI in the first place. But I got it to fit eventually. It won't be coming back out after all that trouble however so make sure you have an extra inch or two for your device.Otherwise get an adapter that has a short cord so it bends for such situations.I still give it 5 because I could have used it on the other end instead by adding another male to female adapter I have, but I wasn't thinking.Oh and if you need HDMI audio to pass through to a device, then please note that this will not carry it. It will only feed in video. The only difference between DVI and HDMI is the audio So the video quality will still be spot on.

AWESOME
So, my laptop puts out HDMI and my monitor takes either VGA or DVI...So of course, the dillema. I wanted to maintain the quality of HDMI so I knew I wanted to keep that as my output. My choice then was to either:Laptop with HDMI (F) -> (M) HDMI cable (M) -> (F) HDMI to DVI adapter(M) -> Monitor with (F) DVILaptop with HDMI (F) -> (M) HDMI to DVI adapter (F) -> (M) DVI Cable (M) -> Monitor with (F) DVII went with the first one (this product) for the following reasons: I didnt want an adapter hanging off my laptop, potentially damaging my laptop or the adapter, and secondly, I tend to have more HDMI cables lying around as they are much more popular. On a side note, I use an AmazonBasic HDMI cable with this, and it does a good job.Anyways this product did what I needed and did it well.

Inexpensive adapter that totally works
I bought 2 of these things to connect my laptop to my TV (for the price, I could easily afford a spare). These bad boys are great. They're robust and have thumb screws to keep the cable connected. You'll be waiting for them for a while since they ship from China, but both connectors I bought have no problems.Side note; every once in a great while I have a pixel or two flash green for a few milliseconds, but this is more likely due to the setup I have (length of cables and position of equipment) than the use of the adapter. All in all, this thing is well worth the peanuts you will spend on it if you're connecting to an older monitor or TV. Just remember that DVI in itself does not support audio, so you'll need an extra cable for that.

Great service! Monoprice DVI-D Single Link Male to HDMI Female adapter (New) From SELL BELOW COST.
I've received DVI-D to HDMI dual link adapter instead of a single link and it did not work with my Samsung TV. I contacted seller through Amazon Customer help and seller promised to investigate why that happened. Several days past – no answer. I contacted seller again using Amazon help. Seller immediately sent apology and promised to return my money, to send me another adapter and CABLES, and did not ask to send back adapter. Yesterday I received from the seller TWO CABLES (dual and single link) and TWO adapters at NO CHARGE! It is the most generous apology I've ever had. Everything is working! Thank you, SELL BELOW COST. Delivery was fast both times. Great business practice. I would most definitely recommend SELL BELOW COST! Obviously five stars.

Works but doubtful improvement over VGA
I bought this to attach at a new Dell P2213 monitor (reviewed on Amazon) that has DVI but no HDMI port. My new Dell Inspiron desktop has HDMI but no DVI port. I had a 6' HDMI cable so this worked out well. If you don't have a cable I'd suggest getting the Amazon Basics converter that is attached to a cable. My sound is through separate speakers attached at the PC sound port so that wasn't an issue. I used the VGA cable before this arrived and can't say I see much difference.

used for 2nd monitor
I was recently gifted an older monitor by a cousin who was looking to throw it away. I did not have an additional VGA or DVI port on my video card but I do have an HDMI out. Using this port I am able to convert the HDMI cable to a DVI plug for the monitor I received. This was the cheapest/easiest way to connect the monitor to my computer. The device works great and the monitor works great as well.

Perfect adapter, be careful if you're using two side by side
I bought two of these adapters to use on my desktop graphics card (GTX285) to hook up monitors that only supported HDMI and VGA.Heads up if you're using two: The edge covering around the thumb screws are much thicker than my previous DVI-HDMI adapter. I couldn't plug both in at the same time because they would push apart. I had to use a shop grinder to flatten the edges and now both fit perfect. Its just excess plastic that serves no purpose, but obviously is a problem if your graphic card's DVI out are too near.

It Gets the Job Done
It's nothing fancy, but it's does what it's designed to do, and it does it well.

Perfect solution for older video cards and newer HDMI In only monitors.
Exactly what was needed to get the old video card with DVI out only to work with the new monitors that had HDMI input Only. Worked exactly as described and quality is excellent.
