Great reinterpretation of Beatle classics.........
I love this album and was excited to finally get it on cd........ It's nice to see more people accepting of the music off this record now than when it came out, I think the disco association isn't warranted (I happen to love 70's disco so it was never a problem for me) but except for the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Finale at the end of the album, there really isn't a hint of disco in the music at all. I think alot of people were oblivious to the fact that it was produced by George Martin, the same man who produced the original album and most if not all of the other Beatle records as well, and its all a very honest attempt at reimagining the Beatles versions with a slightly different approach. My favorite song of all is Sandy Farinas Strawberry Fields Forever, a beautiful version of the song. Every song that Frampton and The BeeGees handle sound excellent to me, Prestons Get Back is fantastic, Aeorsmith and EWF do incredible versions of their covers, probably the most recognizable for mainstream listeners of any of the songs off the album. Maxwell is pure 78' era Steve Martin and I love it for that, it makes me think back to the endless times I'd listen to his stand up records early on in his career. Great music from a sorely underapprciated soundtrack.........a part of me wishes they could mount a one time benefit concert and do a live version of the album while theres still an opportunity to get a majority of the musicians and vocalists together to do it before it becomes just a wishful memory.......... I'd go see it!

Pristine condition
When you purchase vintage vinyls you must expect a few flaws. The cover showed a little wear but the important part was beyond expectations. Thank you for your honest description.I’ll be back❤️

Most fun Sgt Pepper's
Okay, yes it isn't the best or truest to the original, but, it's the BeeGees! They're in all their glory from the height of the 70's: when they were young and pretty and had strong voices and a string of awesome #1's. Robin Gibbs version of Oh! Darlin' is fabulous. If this weren't enough, there is Peter Frampton in his glory years just looking adorable and singing like a little bird. His Long and Winding Road gives me goosebumps. Then, there is Alice Cooper's Because, and Aerosmith's Come Together.Party On Wayne! Steve Martin,George Burns, Donald(Halloween)Pleasance and all the rest. Super-dooper! Since Cheap Trick did the Beatles version, recently, maybe the Killers should do this the soundtrack version.Just a thought. "85" you can dance to most of it. The film makes absolutely no sense, yet it is pretty to look at, everyone looks like they had fun doing it. Other great performances=Billy Preston singing Get Back and Earth Wind and Fire=Got to Get You Into My Life. Little children love watching this and singing along. Us big kids, too.

If you enjoy 70s camp, there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy this album
The movie SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND is a special kind of bad movie that only comes along every once in a while. An ill-advised concept, a bizarre mix of ingredients and excessively lavish production create a monstrously huge disaster of a movie that happens also to be supremely entertaining. The perfect visual analogy for it is the scene in THE NAKED GUN when the hypnotized doctor first crashes into a gasoline truck, then a missile transporter, then a fireworks factory. It starts out bad, gets worse, and winds up so spectacularly awful it is absolutely fascinating to behold. The soundtrack album doesn't quite live up to that level of magnificent badness, but retains enough of the movie's campy feel to make it quite an entertaining listen. Much of the album is made up of The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton's perfectly decent, if not lighthearted renditions of Beatles classics. Their shining moment comes during a medley of "Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window/Nowhere Man/Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Reprise." It's a fun, exciting, foot-tapping track. Say what you will about the Gibb brothers and Frampton, but these guys were some tight musicians and singers.Other good points include Dianne Steinberg singing a surprisingly good disco version of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," Alice Cooper and the Bee Gees (in what must be one of the oddest pairings of musical acts ever) doing an appropriately macabre version of "Because," Earth, Wind & Fire's infectiously catchy "Got to Get You Into My Life" and Aerosmith's now classic cover of "Come Together."Low points include Frankie Howerd's "When I'm Sixty Four" and "Mean Mr. Mustard." Howerd is funny in the movie, but his shtick doesn't translate to audio-only. Steve Martin takes his "wild & crazy guy" act way too far in "Maxwell's Silver Hammer," and the track is pretty much just annoying. The worst, however, is Sandy Farina, who plays Strawberry Fields in the movie. She sings "Here Comes the Sun" and, not surprisingly, "Strawberry Fields Forever." While she technically can sing, her voice is so insufferably sappy it's like eating a pound of circus peanuts and then drinking a bottle of maple syrup to wash it down. And why even bring up George Burns singing "Fixing a Hole?"Overall, the album is a fun, lighthearted collection of Beatles covers, none of which (not even Aerosmith) comes close to capturing the magic of the original versions. Still, it's entertaining enough and belongs in the collection of any bad movie buff.

Great cover of Abbey Road & Sgt. Pepper's
This was expensive and hard to come by! But very nostalgic. Naturally, actual Beatles are better, but other than Dark Side of the moon, these two albums (Abbey Road and Sgt. Peppers) are the only two great rock and roll albums that I know of which were covered in their entirety. And of course, there are at least half a dozen different bands who have covered Dark Side of the Moon. I would love to know of any of the other great classic rock and rock & roll albums that were covered whole?
