What does the back side look like? Do you put felt on it.

If stitched properly then the back side will look like an inverse of the front, but it will not be as finished looking (meaning the areas where one starts / stops stitching will be visible.) One could use felt or cardboard if a backing is desired, but the kit does not include any backing materials.

The finished design size of each of the 6 ornaments is 3" x 4" (7.62 cm x 10.16 cm)

can you tell me what the blue is on the end of the caps?It doesn't look like cross stitching.Is it something included in the kit?

The "blue" pieces at the end of the caps are mini pom-poms that are included with the kit.

are these precut patterns?

No they are not pre-cut. The kit comes with diagrams and instructions to cut the ornaments from the included plastic canvas.
