Great product, awful customer support from Bushnell
The binoculars are great. Bushnell's customer service sucks.Over the years I have used (and given to my professional colleagues) many pairs of this product. The price is reasonable. The optics are terrific, especially at night. The binocular is lightweight and waterproof. The built-in compass is an important feature. I am never without this binocular when I go to sea. In fact, I have used Bushnell binoculars, including this model, for 15+ years from Eastport, ME to Key West, FL, and will continue to do so.But don't count on the company for customer support. If your binocular is damaged (as my recent pair was damaged in a fall to the cockpit sole), Bushnell will probably deny responsibility. In my case, Bushnell wanted more for the repair ($141) than the cost of new Bushnell binoculars (same model #) from Amazon.com ($128, with no tax and free shipping). As I am a fan of Amazon, I bought TWO new binoculars from Amazon -- one as a gift to a worthy mate. Bushnell will, I hope, despite this commentary, ship the damaged binocular back to me so that I can "show-and-tell" it as an excellent example of a great product backed by awful customer support.Captain Bernie WeissAtlantic Yacht Delivery, LLC

Arrived broken
At first, I really liked these Bushnell binoculars. They feel solid, with nonslip coating, the compass seems high quality, optics are excellent. But immediately, the light switch was broken. There were no useful instructions about inserting the batteries (minor) and the battery contact was scratched as if by a pocket knife. The cheap plastic battery cap is almost impossible to install correctly and is easily damaged. It seems to be missing a negative battery contact, also. These binoculars seem to be used. They were shipped in just a plastic bag with no padding at all!!!! The thin packaging was very old-looking. I really wanted to like these, but the light system is cheap and shoddy. I thought about sending them for repair, but I see that other people have received bad service from Bushnell, so I will return them.UPDATE:I bought a second pair of these Marine 7 x 50 binoculars directly from Bushnell. They work perfectly! I am convinced that the first pair that I received from the company that sells through Amazon were used and damaged and the company must have known this, and falsely represented them as new. This company should be banned from selling on Amazon!!!SIDE NOTE:The batteries should be positive side up. The battery cap is cheap and still easily damaged, and difficult to install without damaging it. The compass light is red, so you will know for sure if it is working. So far, I really like these.

Great binos. Clear
Great binos. Clear, good field of view, recommended Coast Guard power, built-in compass with light. I use mine on my boat and share it with guests, who always comment on how nice they are. And the price for what you get is awesome. The large lens caps are a bit flimsy, are not connected, and blew out of the boat on day 1. Neck strap is flimsy for such heavy binoculars. Just keep them in a nice case, buy a nice strap and you're all set.

Great Binoculars with Integrated Compass for Taking Bearings
You don't realize how much you miss your binoculars until you try to do some boating / sailing without them. These are well made, armored, waterproof, and have excellent light transmission. I have 2 sets now, one for the boat and one for on land. Seller performed as advertised, price reflects a good value. These are great sailing binoculars. Recommended!

Fogproof for marine or wet environments
The justification for these binoculars is that they are fogproof. A typical center focus binocular will easily fog up with temperature changes, while these waterproof, sealed binoculars won't. They eyepieces focus individually, and they are "one and done", meaning once they are focused for an individual, they are good for any distance without refocusing. I have not used the rengefinder but the built in compass is excellent for checking bearings and comparing deviation of the boats main compass.

These are NOT rugged !
I purchased 3 sets of these binoculars because I loved them so much BUT each broke and Bushnell refused to cover repair under the limited warranty. This is the last one I buy. Each binocular dropped accidentally once exactly 1 foot ( I measured it) from the cushion on my boat to the fiberglass bottom of my boat. Each set of binoculars broke with this minor impact. I purchased this set of binoculars because it said they were rugged which obviously they are not. Never again.

Good optics, tough build quality, waterproof and they really do float!
Very impressed with these binos. Image quality is excellent, the compass is nicely damped and seems to work well even at fairly large angles above and below the horizontal. Unlike other binos the focusing is via each eye-piece, not a central knob. Only an issue if constantly sharing - which I will discourage crewmates from contemplating! Surprisingly and despite their heft, they do (barely) float - I tested this in a bucket of cold fresh water. They were mostly submerged, but they eyepieces were stubbornly above the water. So should be well above in salt-water. Looks like there's a filter thread for the objectives, something less than 52mm, but I haven't had time to explore properly yet. I like their performance and price-point - anything on a boat is eventually going to get wet, otherwise fail or be dropped. I think these will endure and if they fall overboard and can't be retrieved at this price I won't cry for too long.
