awesome value for the money
For the money its hard to beat this watch. I have had it for a week and it has preformed quite well. The only problem was the bezel was super stiff, so I had to take it off and put some grease on it and it is fine now. The strap is ok, although is it very long. (I think the rest of the world has been watching too much NFL and thinks we are all that size) I ended up cutting it shorter with some heavy sheers and filing it smooth.Lume is ok, not the brightest ever, but it does last a long time. The real star of the watch is the movement. It hacks and has hand winding and is just about as accurate as a mechanical watch can get. The watch looks good too, I like the understated black dial, but if you like color, the Ray 2 also comes in a blue. The Manta 2 is the same watch, but has numbers and the blue dial.

Awesome value for the money!
In this day and age, it is difficult to find a multi-jeweled automatic mechanical watch. Much less one with the diving capabilities of this one. 200 meters that is 660 feet of water resistance. That aside the build quality, is nothing short of the fine craftsmanship the Japanese are known for. The bezel works just like a professional dive watch should function, the luminosity of the dials are perfect. All in all the build quality, the styling well I could go on and on. Kudos to Orient for making such a fine watch, every watch guy needs to own one of these.Reuben Garcia

My first automatic watch
Hasn't left my wrist since it arrived. Operating within factory specs and is just the right wieght. The rubber strap is better than the casio one i have but not a huge fan of rubber straps. Got a nato strap and a braclet for it and they work great. Great watch for the money.

Lovely watch, strongly recommend.
An excellent entry automatic watch! Two of my dear friends and I bought the same model and we are all equally happy about it!Cons:- I was the unlucky of us and received a watch which has a very hard to turn bezel. However this does not bother me at all since I have very longnails and have no problem with squezzing the bezel grip with my nails and slowly but surely turning it. My two firends do not have this problem.- The bezel does not line up perfectly, that's alright.- The seconds hand does bother since the amount of lume applied to it is not enough for one to read of off it after perhaps 15 minutes of darkness.I would prefer it without any lume at all, for example like the Hamilton Khaki Field.Pros:- Looks great!- Extremly much value for money, you arguably cannot get a finer watch (bought new) with that amount of money- Mine keeps extremly good time, about 4,5 seconds off of each day.Overall I strongly recommend this watch for anyone who has needs a good relatively cheap diver

A Lot Of Watch For The Money
This Orient Ray II exceeded my expectations in fit and finish, quality, and accuracy. After one week of use it only gains about 4 seconds a day. I expect that it will improve with time and break in. I immediately replaced the rubber strap with a nato strap so I can't comment on the comfort of the original band. The 120 click bezel is crisp and can't be accidentally moved while wearing which I find to be a plus. The quality of the watch is very pleasing and much more than expected. The lume on this watch is unreal as it is very bright and long lasting. Very satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend the Ray II to anyone looking for a great automatic watch.

Buy one and live happily ever after
This is bar none the best budget diver around $150 - especially now that Seiko have discontinued the SKX007. This is a stainless steel dive watch rated at 200m - it will go everywhere you go and do everything you do. I was concerned at how well the mineral glass would hold up but after one year of daily wear, mine has no scratches. The movement is a great one, Orient's own (impressive at this price point), automatic and for a mechanical watch accurate, it hacks and has manual wind. The lume is GREAT. Power reserve is decent I can take it off and it will run a full day and stop day 2 not being worn. The stock strap is possibly the only complaint, but at this price-point it's hard to expect more. This is not a big deal to me as I have a collection of nato straps. If that's not your thing, get a strap-code strap which may seem spendy but even then you'll be just over $200 all in and it will feel amazing. Bang for your buck? Look no further. This is the king of budget divers.
