Q: how often should you check the oil level in you fan?

My fans were installed in 1985 (34 years ago) and I am pretty sure that this is the first time I have oiled them (I sure don't remember doing it another time) I needed only 1/2 a tube of oil. to specifically answer the question the instructions on the back of the oil package says "check every 5 years or the warranty is void"

Not all hunter fans need oil. The one I have has a oil port on the top (above the blades) close to the shaft.
