Kidde AccessPoint 001324 KeySafe Auto Permanent with Cover, Titanium Gray

I bought this hoping to use it for my Sprinter van, but it’s nowhere big enough for a modern key fob. I kept it for use with a cargo trailer that only uses slim metal keys though, and it seems to be well-built

We use these on our trucks for our drivers. We keep a spare key in them because someone always gets locked out at least once in their driving career. We mount them on the frame of the trucks (big rigs) and in 10 years they have always worked as they should and we have avoided costly locksmith calls from our drivers out on the road.

I purchased this key safe to install on our home. I installed it myself (67 year old female) and found it necessary to use screws instead of the bolts provided. I needed the point of the screw to go through the rubber boot, vinyl siding and the wood beneath it. I chose to install it where the power, cable and phone lines enter the house so it blends with those boxes. Very secure and handy. In addition to using in the event of a personal lock out, I wanted for use by emergency personal. I've had to call 911 and leave the patient to answer (unlock) the door. Now I can just give the code and because it may be broadcast and heard on scanners I can easily change the code.

I kept locking myself out of my work truck when the key reminder buzzer decided to stay on regardless of keys/lights/etc.. I screwed it to my back bumper with the included sheet metal screws and stuck a key in there. With the included weather cover it kind of blends in. I kind of wish the profile was a little shallower but I'm happy not to get locked out at the lumberyard anymore

This is a nice product. I tried another brand, but the space inside was too small for a vehicle key. This one is better. It fits my key (barely). I like the waterproof case and the strength of the unit. It's perfect for what I wanted to accomplish, which was to store a key outside that I can reach when I am not inside my house.

This product is well built but the inside dimensions were too small for what I needed. I validated the interior (careful not to confuse with overall unit size) dimensions of the unit before purchasing, but what the specifications failed to clarify is that about 1/2 the stated depth is taken up by the locking mechanism. Misleading. For all of the additional size but limited interior clearance space, there are better options available.

I have purchased 2 keysafes over the past 3 years and protected them both with the covers. Unfortunately neither one is now usable due weathering. So now I have 2 useless key safes that can not be opened and can not be removed from the bumper.

Great product! Installed in about 3 minutes. Especially useful is the plastic housing if you intend to mount this keysafe outside. Room for one or two keys, some car keys will not fit and for sure fob's would be a problem. A bigger model is available o solve that need.
