Great sprinkler!
I got another one of these to replace the one I bought on Amazon about 4 years ago. It finally gave up the ghost after sitting in nearly full sun and with hard water the whole time, so I would not expect it to last forever. The only plants I have that need watering, other than potted ones, are some boxwood hedges farther down in my yard. The irrigation stopped working years ago and this sprinkler is the best one I've found. It gives full coverage and I only have to turn the spigot a little to get a full spray. I leave the hose connected to it and I leave it in the boxwood. It's light weight makes it easy to move. There are two sections of boxwood so I only have to move it once each week when I water. It's not set to full spray out of the box, so you need to turn the red knob to 0 and push the tabbed bands that limit the spray distance all the way down, one on each side. Turn your hose on low to test it to make sure you have the right setting before you turn the pressure up. I use Alexa to time it. Next best thing to built in irrigation!

Finally, a sprinkler I can figure out :)
AHHH, finally a sprinkler that I can figure out. Maybe this doesn't say much about me, but I could never figure out the "other" sprinklers where you turn the circular knob to adjust the oscillations. (They're usually green). Because I couldn't figure those out, I tried a variety of other styles of sprinklers but they all really were inadequate. I'm constantly battling dog-pee-burn in my tiny yard so I'm forever repairing patches. Which involves watering. I finally don't hate doing it. Adjusting the spray is very intuitive.I also love the timer. I have a bit of a bad habit of turning on the sprinkler and then going to bed! This is great. I believe it is detachable and you could actually attach the timer to the faucet. This would be helpful if you (like me) use those expanding hoses that will burst if the pressure is left in them too long (like overnight). I realize this is a great idea, but for some reason I never tested it. Oddly enough, once the hose was on a timer I never "forgot" about it....go figure.Even if this broke, I would buy another one. Its cheap enough and works well enough.

RAINWAVE Oscillating Sprinkler with Timer: not bad but could be cheaper & sturdier
What you see is what you get!Its got a mechanical timer you set by spinning the knob that is trivial to use and so far seems reliable. Its pretty easy to control the area it sprays too.Its made of some very cheap light grade plastic though. And sure isn't priced like it is either! Should be selling for nearly half the price it goes for because of that. I'm not optimistic that I'll get more than 2yr out of it.You definitely don't want to step on it either! Your foot will crunch right through if you do.Still its doing the job well with a minimum of fuss or effort so far, a rarity for anything these days, so I gave it 4 stars.

Just so you know, I no longer 'do' lawns but my neighbor boy does
He's going to make a fortune one day when he opens his business, he's a genius. And very particular about his tools. I don't know how many sprinklers I've bought - he wants a system but I am not paying for it in our small front yard and the back won't be landscaped completely for a couple of years even if it does depress him.He looked a bit disdainful when I enthusiastically popped out with this, but I encouraged him to try it anyway so if it didn't work I could send it back.It waters our weird shaped lawns nicely because it can be adjusted so well to different areas; it is thorough. I have noticed that the Rainwave has not yet been remanded to the pile of rejected sprinklers in the garage and the old owl sprinkler is nowhere to be seen. That means he likes it unless I hear otherwise. Actually, from him this can be considered a rousing endorsement.

I would avoid it you don't want to buy another in a few months.
I am updating my review after having it for almost a year. It worked perfect when I first received it. Now 8 months later and will not move anymore. It just makes a clicking noise like a gear is stripped and will move if you give it a nudge but then promptly get stuck again after a minute. The unit was stored in a safe place with nothing on it, around it in its original box. There is no reason that it should have stopped working. I read reviews similar but like most i thought well can't please everyone. Now i know they weren't lying. The only good thing is that the water timer still works fine so i attached it to a sprinkler i bought at homedepot 2 years ago that still works fine (not this brand or unit). I would avoid this unit. It is also 100% plastic and color faded very quickly in texas heat. It will not water the specified SQFT as well, but when worked would cover a decent amount.

physically a good investment. needs some tuning in the area coverage department.
Great for covering a large area but does not spread water equally. The area for 3 feet on each side of the sprinkler does not get enough water for equal plant growth. By the 3 feet on each side i'm talking 90 degrees on each end of the sprinkler. The adustment and coverage for how far you want to throw the water works well. love the timer.

Accurate Timer and Easy to Use!
I bought a couple of these sprinklers for my yard and have had them for a couple months now. They are super easy to use and work excellently. I love how the timer is accurate and does a great job of managing how much I water my lawn. The controls on the side to regulate where it sprays are also real easy to change and setup exactly how you need it in order to fit your lawn. I move them around a lot and often times have them resting on an angle and though they're not made of metal, they are sturdy and stay in place. None of the holes on either sprinkler have clogged or show any signs of clogging. I am really happy with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
