Perfect
I could not find whole pink peppercorns for sale locally, so gave these a try. They work well for my needs and seem fresh enough.I had recently been to Taiwan and tried some macau sausage, but it is very difficult (if not impossible) to get the macau berry outside of Taiwan, but I was confident that I could do it even though my mother-in-law did not believe me.Fast forward, I have used these peppercorns four times, and I made a very convincing replica of the macau sausage with these (and other ingredients)!

Lots of delicious peppercorns!
This bottle is huge for the price, and I'm excited to use these pink peppercorns in my cooking. They're much flakier than regular black peppercorns, and the flavor is bright. I also like that the bottle opens for sprinkling or can be screwed open for pouring more. So far my favorite way to use the pink peppercorns is in homemade popcorn, but I'm looking forward to using them in lots of ways - with this bottle I'll have lots to experiment with!

Pink Pepper, whole, for your grinder
I like pink peppercorns; these are mild in flavor, have a pop of color, and great for steak, meat, and your culinary uses. These are not the Chinese red peppercorns, but more the Brazilian kind where they are immature and genetic mutants. EBT friendly, which I know for some this is important. Add to a pepper grinder for a pop of color and culinary excellence or use straight for a much milder pepper flavor.

Pepper-gasm!!
One of my favorite and most used wedding gifts was a pair of 2 foot tall clear acrylic salt and pepper grinders. They are s statement piece that changed the way I cooked forever. Not only did regular use sculpt my arms, but they taught me the magic of a fresh ground peppercorn medley. I didn't think it made that big of a difference until I used up the pepper the grinder came with and I replaced it with straight black peppercorns. I dearly missed the depth and range of flavor it added to my food. That's where these babies come in. I needed to augment my black peppercorns with pink, green and white peppercorns for the ultimate pepper-gasm. It sounds weird, but trust me, it's a thing....

Great for the price but some of the peppercorns are ...
Great for the price but some of the peppercorns are a bit rough. When I have bought smaller, more expensive containers they appear to have been sorted for quality.

Quality Pink "peppercorns"
Though pink peppercorns are not really peppercorns, they add a wonderful flavor to a blend of other peppercorns like white or green. The pink peppercorn is a very delicate pod or "peppercorn." I grind them with a mortar and pestle or in a grinder with a mix of sturdier peppercorns.

They're pink peppercorns...
Technically they are dried berries.... Take one, crush it between your fingers and then you will understand. It's a thin red shell with what looks like a peppercorn inside. Also, if you are allergic to Brazil or similar nuts, I suggest avoiding these. All of that aside, these taste as a "red" peppercorn should, a mild "peppery" flavor, not as much "bite" as a black peppercorn. They do not grind well alone in a typical peppercorn grinder, so I recommend either a coffee grinder or mortar & pestle. They do fine if mixed with other varieties. Their mild taste makes them user friendly for a novice cook unsure of pepper taste limitations. They also function well for presentation - if you put them in with other inedible foodstuffs.
