What a find!! If you go to buy this in a specialty store, expect to pay 20 times this price for it. Don't believe me? Call you local Whole Foods and ask them how much they charge for it. This is the unground version of the white pepper you find in Chinese restaurants. It is best if you don't grind it until right before you use it. I use an electric grinder and then further pulverize it in a mortar and pestle. If you cook Asian food like I do, you simply must have this spice! I use it ,most frequently in the dredge for my Salt and Pepper Squid or Salt and Pepper Shrimp dishes. And Won Ton soup is not complete without a dusting of this spice on it at serving time.

The pepper came quickly and seems to be fresh and tasty. We started using it right away. The store we normally got bulk pepper from has closed and this is a good way to get a similar product.

One of my favorite and most used wedding gifts was a pair of 2 foot tall clear acrylic salt and pepper grinders. They are s statement piece that changed the way I cooked forever. Not only did regular use sculpt my arms, but they taught me the magic of a fresh ground peppercorn medley. I didn't think it made that big of a difference until I used up the pepper the grinder came with and I replaced it with straight black peppercorns. I dearly missed the depth and range of flavor it added to my food. That's where these babies come in. I needed to augment my black peppercorns with pink, green and white peppercorns for the ultimate pepper-gasm. It sounds weird, but trust me, it's a thing....Also, this is amazing to use in foods like mashed potatoes or cauliflower, white sauces, white cream soups, etc because it adds a subtle pepper-y ness without the black flecks in it so it looks totally professional. :)

I was not able to find a quantity size container of white pepper in town, not even at Sam's and so I went to Amazon to buy a trusted spice brand. Be careful with this pepper, as it is much hotter than the black peppercorns.

The taste was okay but sure didn’t look like white peppercorns.

If you like to taste the pepper, get you some of this. Use it sparingly until you decide how much you really like pepper. It is potent. It screams...pepper.I like the flavor...definitely a different taste from the mixed pepper corn or the black pepper.If you are a fan of pepper you should get some just to taste the difference.
