It's a little tricky to use. First there cannot be any wrinkles in the edge you are sealing. Second, you have to slide it along the edge you are sealing at just the right speed, too fast and it won't seal properly/completely, too slow and it will completely melt through the bag edge.

Spotted this item while surfing Amazon one day and had to give it a try. It has actually impressed me for the price I paid and we’ve used it lots so far. Takes a little practice to get the hang of sliding it along the bag you are trying to seal. I usually do it across half the bag and the spin the bag around and start where I left off and finish the line the rest of the way. Hard to explain that but once you try you’ll see it’s easier to do the way and keep the bag tight while you are sealing. Especially since some bags have a seam in the middle. . The sealing process is similar to a heat strip on a vacuum sealer. Just need to recognize that it doesn’t make it perfectly air tight. So far so good. It works well enough that you don’t have to worry about the bag spilling open or have to use a chip clip to keep it closed up. Some times it’s helpful to use some scissors to cut a clean line instead of trying to fight to get the sealer to go over areas of the bag that got torn or crinkled with the original opening.

It does somewhat seal the bags but barely. If I go slower it just burns a hole in them. It’s good enough that I still prefer it to bag clips but it’s not that great of a seal.

This product did not work the way I expected. It was difficult for me to use, and did not see you effectively. I returned it. I would not recommend this product to anybody.

This so handy for heat sealing bags. It gets hot! I replaced the batteries from the generic ones they included but the fact that they included any batteries was amazing. The functionality is easy. Works quickly so great heating speed.

Great for re sealing chips . Kid loves to use it now so it’s saving money with her throwing away bags of chips. Now she zips the bags and unzips them ( razor included ) as part of her snack routine . I don’t ask …. Just happy she isn’t wasting so much food .Good deal if your teen loves to eat a bag of chips one day and lets them go stale afterwards because they want something else .

First, this does exactly what it says it will do. It will seal a bag of chips, crackers, etc.The problem is, that the way it makes the seal isn't as easy to open as the original packaging. You basically have to cut the bag below the seal line to get more chips. That would be fine if you were going to put them away for a few days, but I think most of us want to get a few chips now, a few more in a couple hours, a few more while we're watching TV at night...which is really not convenient if you have to cut the bag open then use this to reseal it every time.What I've found as a good use for this is storing pre-made hamburgers in the freezer. I don't have to use zipper bags, I can put them in any plastic bag (as long as it's heavy enough) and seal it with this. Then when I cut it open to take a couple burgers out for dinner, there's enough room created to make a new seal line.The other thing is that this will melt right through thin plastic, so don't try to use it on a regular bread bag, it will just melt it.
