Q: Is the natural color a paintable surface, or is it sealed and in need of sanding before paint can be applied?

We ordered the stool in the white finish so I can’t speak on how the natural wood is finished. The white version was sealed after painting & could be repainted after a very fine grit sanding. It definitely is non-porous & wipes clean.

Q: Is there a new model that is pictured? The picture reviews show a different tower than what is advertised.

Q: Can the dowel on the back be easily removed and then reinserted when the child is on the stool. How is it done?

My child( 17mos) has yet to remove it. It utilizes a spring to hold it in place.
