I really like this system, it is simple to install and use, and robust and secure enough, I think the trash can will break before any of the parts here do.I haven't had any animals defeat it yet, and sure saves a lot of mess and hassle.It locks the lid securely, whereas previously when I had it secured with bungee cords, it helped with the wind, but the bears could still get in and spread trash everywhere.Recommended.

I recently ordered two different trash can solutions for keeping neighborhood raccoons out of my trash. The competitor to this product (The Bin Claw) arrived first and it was easy to install and a perfect for my Toter trash can. This product arrived second and seems like it would be more resistant to the elements (metal vs. plastic), but it is more of a process to install and the wires are more difficult to adjust. Another thing to consider is that some trash cans are provided by municipalities or sanitation service providers and they will not allow you to drill holes into their property. I installed this on my secondary overflow trash can and it works but I prefer the ease of the competing product.
