Excellent preserves... or you might call them jams... they are not everyday... very special, thick and spreadable... great taste... glad I bought them... gave this 4 pack as a gift, it was well received...

This sampler of four full-size Bon Maman fruit preserves comes packed in a very sturdy, thick-sided cardboard box. I can imagine this package surviving WWIII. It arrived in perfect shape — jars in great shape. Raspberry, Strawberry, Blueberry and Cherry. I finished off the Blueberry preserves first, and am working my way through the Cherry. Mmmm!Now, this brand is all about fruit and flavor. At first I thought that these preserves were a little watery, but then realized that I have been eating other brands lately that tend to add a lot of pectin. Higher-pectin preserves set up stiffer. The liquid between the fruits here is concentrated juice and full of flavor, and still spreads well. There is a lot of solid fruit flesh, whole berries, with the concentrated juice between the solids. You can really tell you are eating a fruit preserve.If your preference is for a preserve thickened with pectin (and there are some excellent ones out there) this might come as a surprise. If you like some whole berries and juices, not thickened and possibly a bit more awkward to spread, this is your preserve brand. And the taste and aroma is always exquisite!I eat it on bread with butter or cream cheese to just celebrate the preserves themselves, but have used it in sandwiches, omelettes or as a condiment for just about anything. Makes a good topping on ice cream.
