EMOTNLY HLTHY SPIRITLTY REV SC: It's Impossible to Be Spiritually Mature, While Remaining Emotionally Immature Paperback – Illustrated, 5 April 2017

I found the EHS devotional in my son's house and borrowed it. Then I bought the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. From there I have bought four or five more books off the back of the author's bibliography and am still devouring. Amazon are happy with me. I AM IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE when it comes to so-called Christian books. Oswald Chambers does it. Bob Kauflin (Worship Matters). And now Peter Scarrezzo. I believe God speaks through him. He is learned, thought out and has an outlook on life that we share. I wouldn't say it has changed my life, but has shown me that I'm not that far from being OK. His nodding to our spiritual forefathers is SO comforting and so against the tide of modern theology. Bless you Peter Scarrezzo.

Peter Scazzzero calls the reader to stop and think about the way they're seeking to follow Jesus with their life. Most of it involves stopping and thinking more. I found this book thought provoking and challenging; I even bought several paper copies to give to friends. It's rare that I make it all the way to the end of a Christian book but this really held my attention and left me wanting to make changes to the way I live my life. Definitely recommended!

I had long heard of this book and how helpful it was to many, but in actually reading it I found it even more helpful than I expected.Skilfully Scazzero weaves the foundations and principles of why a personal rule of life is vitally important for the emotionally healthy disciple. He draws from the breadth and depth of the fullness of Christian traditions all with the ultimate aim to help the reader craft their own personal rule of life to follow Christ and to focus on loving him the most. I would thoroughly recommend as a must read.

Bought it as a gift for my husband. He is enjoyed reading the book

A helpful book giving insights into some of the hidden drivers that prompt us to behave in ways that we regret afterwards. It links aspects of our emotional health with spiritual maturity. Helpful illutrations from the author's life provide examples that bring the principles to life.

An extremely challenging book that encourages the reader to examine their current Christian walk with God with the purpose of bringing balance between our Christian service and our personal relationship with God. It is, as I said, challenging but the promised result is a revolutionary realignment in ones Christian growth and development.

I have even seen such a wonderful change in our church leaders since they did the course. An openness and honesty, depth and vulnerability that is a joy to behold. Praise God! I have already recommended the course to a friend who went through a tough time for almost a year. She is a Pastor's wife in another city, and they are going to get the material and do the course with their church leaders.

This book was easy to read but I found it disappointing. While all the content is good and sometimes even helpful for reflection and growth in emotional maturity, his handling of God's Word was poor throughout and I found the book didn't offer any practical application - the last few chapters were devoted to the spiritual disciplines of Sabbath and the Daily Office which to me seems like a different subject.Not a complete waste of time but won't be recommending or reading again.

Incredibly deep but also simple and practical advice to grow in love for God and for people. Based on scripture

A powerful read that challenged me to go deeper and tend to the most important things of life. In this book I was forced to face all the pain and frustration of my faith. As I unpacked the disappoinment and was encouraged to considered my emotional health, I found a new way of living out my faith. A way that brings the emotional and spiritual together!

Prevents me from constantly thinking about my problems.
