I ordered one set and for reasons unknown one of the bars would not accept the end caps . The caps have to moveable to adjust to the roof width of your car. I looked for a replacement but found none I liked at what I felt was a reasonable price . I ordered a second set of bars ( the first sent back ) which went together with ease . I am not disturbed by noise with the bars on the car and I look forward to some years of use of these roof bars . Despite my first experience I feel these to be goo bars and worth the cost.

Great bars. Easy to install. Bought for 23 kodiaq. Obviously not the quality of Thule aerobars but they're a third of the price. I've no concerns with the quality but time will tell.

The plastic parts need to be pushed into the aluminium rail.They would not go in fully. There is a horizontal orange locking plug, it has a moulding seam which stops the footing part going inside the rails.Trim that off with a Stanley knife, spray some silicone spray and it does go in as intended.My tip is for fit the bars first, pushing and pulling the mounting shoes till they fit the bar first.Locke the shoe with the vertical hex key. check the rubbers are in the right place.THEN, lock the,horizontal hex lock, which keeps the sliding bars in contact with the shoe; not afterwards as the instructions claim.This stops the bars from moving and over riding the car roof bars and is a lot less hassle.In use the next day to carry decking bars, they were fine, the SKODA KODIAK has a slightly sloping roof, so the wood projects upwards. No problem with planks of wood, but any sheet material would act as a sail. Secure with a rope of rope to stop it going upwards and place a stiff 2x2" staff of wood along the top to make it rigid.The anti-slip rubber is in an open channel and not that tight. I had to push it back in, I can see this deteriorating and leaving an open channel, not good.Most bars are solid and wrapped in plastic, but they are steel and will rust, these won't rust, but can you buy replacement rubbers?Wind nise? Not bad, but you can hear them and I that would be a disdvantage to fuel consumption, so take off when done.The only way way to get these off and on is to loosen the top hex nut a long way, drop the jaw and slide one end diagonally across the car to get it off the rail, Don't unscrew it too far as the parts will fall off the machine screw.TIP: The Hex key is a pain to use. use a hex bit in a screwdriver which has removable bits, so much easier with 8 machine bolts to tighten up and adjust and you will at first, a few times.

Roof bars are extremely sturdy and quality product. Had these on my car six months now and would thoroughly recommend. Just to add, I recently lost the keys. Couldn’t find them anywhere. Contacted the customer services, and they couldn’t be more helpful. I couldn’t see any serial numbers on the roof bars so they sent me several replacement key options. Absolutely brilliant !! Can’t fault this company, just wish more companies had this after sales service. Will definitely deal with again.
