CeraVe 590101 Healing Ointment with Petrolatum Ceramides for Protecting and Soothing Cracked, 12 oz

My Daughter has suffered since she was born 16years ago with severe contact dermatitis... Patch tests have yet to answer what's causing it... we've been through the whole prescription list and brought many other ointments claiming to be the miracle cream...we've even tried vaseline and that was almost as bad as hydrolmol ointment. We noticed a clear improvement overnight, she's now been using this for 7 days and her skin is now starting to heal which hasn't happened in years. She uses this twice daily on her arms, neck and breast. But uses this on her hands and face as and when needed. Yes it's going cost us mega bucks and isn't available on prescription but it's the only stuff that really works for her. I'm now starting to try it on my pre menopause dry patches and I am getting instant relief.

Cerave Healing Ointment lasts an impressively long time! It’s excellent for dry skin, absorbing quickly and leaving the skin feeling soft and hydrated. I even use it on my face, and it leaves it feeling smooth and supple.

I have lupus and suffer with a butterfly rash on my cheeks as well as really sensitive skin. After using this ointment every night my face rash has reduced and feels less raw. The sun has not been as bright so this has also helped but I definitely feel like this ointment has helped alot and will continue to use it. I will update my review as and when the sun is bright to see the difference. It's expensive but I bought the big tub to save a little. If it continues to help it will be worth every penny. If my skin is feeling inflamed I also use it first thing in a morning to allow time for it to soak in before I have to apply any makeup. It's alot like vaseline only more solid in the tub but it does dissolve once applied and a little goes a long way.

The consistency is like vaseline and because it's very greasy you can only use it at night. It does the job as a 'surface protectant' so does allow healing overnight, but it has not stopped the itching or cleared up my skin. I've been using it on my hands at night where I have chronic ezcema, and its soothing at night but it just provides temporary relief. The expiry date is really short too for the size, theres 340g of product but expires in April 2024.

This is a fantastic product!I started purchasing this in the small 10g tubes and used mainly as a lip moisturiser. As I began to realise how versatile and effective the product is, I decided to buy the 340g tub.I would describe it as a ‘sophisticated’ petroleum jelly. It is a solid formula that melts in contact with the skin. It has a velvety texture that is very comforting. It is not scented, although there is a very faint whiff of petroleum jelly. When used as a lip balm it does not leave the lips glossy-looking - just healthy, smooth and moisturised.I particularly like that this contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid therefore, unlike plain petroleum jelly, these ingredients offer additional benefits.Very happy.

Massive tub! Huge amount for the money you are paying. will last at least a year if not more which is a shame as the expiry date is 08/2021. Great product, hydrates and protects without feeling heavy like vaseline 100% would be a more recommended product than ordinary petroleum jelly given its additional ingredients.I use it around my eyes and lips before bed to protect against EpiduoQuick update in this: I did really like the product but I was having nasty reaction to it. Might be my skin that it doesn't suit but wasn't pleasant so please be caucious especially if you are using it aroung your eyes like I was.

this is basically just petroleum jelly, vaseline is cheaper. don’t waste your money!

I have pompholyx on my left thumb and it's always prone to cracking due to the constant bends on the fingertip while my thumb is in use. It usually take a very long time to heal because more cracks appear when I keep bending it, like talking about a couple of months. I put this ointment on my hands every night before I go to bed and it seems to be doing a good job repairing the cracked skin.The only downside to this is that it's VERY OILY, so pretty much can't ever use it during the day unless you want all your touch screens to be riddled with a mess of oily fingerprints.
