How many Sq ft is covered?

The 40 pound bag covers 4000 sq. ft.

Has anyone in Colorado tried this or someone in an arid high altitude region? What did you think of your results?

Used it last summer here in Denver and was a game changer for my lawn.

My house is a new construction home so our backyard has nothing the seed they put barely grew. Would this work for grass to grow ?

Yes - but, first apply a thin layer of fertilizer, then sprinkle in into your soil a bit before applying Scotts 30158 and watering according to instructions on the package. You will want to wait until the grass is at least 3-1/2" before mowing and use only a push type mower for the first several months. Don't cut lower than about 3".

Can it be used for San Augustine grass??

Well my property can reach temps of 105F and does well as long as you water your lawn ... all grass will die off in heat without water
