I bought these headphones after reading the reviews. They were really good on and 11 hr flight cancelling out some of the engine and passenger noise and allowing me to listen to the in-flight movies and music. They do not cancel out all of the noise but do take the edge off the engine and ambient noise and the sound delivery is good.It was a toss up for me between these and the cheaper Sony headphones without the noise cancelling and I’m pleased I chose these ones. They were comfortable to wear constantly for 11 hrs and the noice cancelling worked well with the movie or music playing. The build quality is good and they good flat for packing. The wire is quite short and flimsy - ideal for flying but maybe not as good for daily or gym use.Overall I was pleased with my purchase and they were ideal for blocking out the aircraft noise of people and engines for a reasonable price.

Work well on long-haul flights
These are compact folding headphones which don't take up too much room in your bag, and won't feel too heavy when you are wearing them either. They are powered by one AAA battery which lasts a long time; Sony claims 80 hours, so more than enough for the longest of long-haul flights, and if you are worried a spare battery won't take up a lot of space either. The build quality of a bit flimsy although they have survived being in my carry-on bag for a recent flight in just a soft pouch. The overhead band is plastic, so this is probably the most vulnerable part of the structure. You do get a battery in the package to start you off which is good, as well as an adapter to use on an aircraft. The noise-cancelling works well in the cabin of a passenger jet. This sort of technology works best with a fairly constant background drone such as that produced by jet engines; it doesn't cut out all of it, but it does cut out enough of the noise that you can listen to a film or music at a reasonable volume. You can still hear people talking though because this sort of sound is more intermittent and varied. I found these headphones comfortable to use and for the price, a real bargain. As long as you are aware of what their limitations are, then you will not be disappointed in these I think.

poor noise cancellation but otherwise very good especially for the price
These headphones have very poor noise cancellation and the function would be better described as a volume boost as that is all it seems to do but considering the price is very low for such a function its acceptable. In other ways these headphones are very good again considering the price, sound quality is very good for comparable headphones. Shouldn't be compared to the sound quality of products 10 or more times the price of course and as such I would only recommend for general use, audiophiles would not be impressed but then again this is not priced or aimed towards discerning users of that type. Can be a little uncomfortable for prolonged use due to no padding on the firm plastic but only noticeable after an hour or so which is fine.for around £35 they are a good option that provides high quality sound in this price range and a limited noise cancellation while being fold able which is pretty impressive for the money. Sound quality is the strongest feature here as it is very good for what is a relatively cheap portable product and if this is the price point your limited to I would highly recommend but do not expect too much from them there are plenty of 'better' products out there if your willing to spend a bit more money.TLDR: £35 SONY headphones with good sound quality for the price but poor noise cancellation. cant complain for £35! slightly uncomfortable for longer use

Ok but sound is harsh
They're OK but the sound is very tinny and harsh when listening to music it's especially noticeable and there is always a hum in the background. A bit disappointing but the noise cancelling works fairly well especially when turning on the battery powered boost mode. Also the adjustment band is loose and makes it hard to set it to specific increments. I have an old JVC pair of headphones I've had for years and the adjustment band is still stiff and accurate the way it should be.

Great Sound for a LOW Price.
Well I'm genuinely impressed, I wanted a cheapish pair of headphones for my son to use on the plane, so I figured I'd try a pair with noise cancellation. I just received these and wow I was really impressed.OK the noise cancellation isn't gonna be as good as a pair of Bose QC25's but you know what for the price they do a dammed good job. I tried these with some music switched on the headphones noise cancellation and wow I was really impressed. The music was crisp and had good base, I was even sat next to a desk fan at the time and it seemed to block out most of the sound of the fan, the headphones even managed to drown out the Mrs shouting at me from the bottom of the stairs, so a nice bonus there !!!!.My only small critism would be comfort, the headbad has zero padding and is just plain old plastic on the top of your head, so I dont know how comfortable these would be after a few hours of use, but if you just want a nice neat pair of headphones thats not gonna cost the earth that sound great you cant go wrong with a pair of these. Sony even throw in a aeroplane adapter too so you can take your headphones on a flight and ot pay the air line £2 just o listen to the inflight movie. Just cant really fault these.

Great for travel, Great for kids
Bought a set of these for the whole family in 2015, primarily to use on long hail flights. The children have put these through a lot of use and abuse, both on the planes where they work very well and at home attached to keyboards and iPads. The noise cancellation is decent. Have bought another 9 years later as the faux leather on my daughter's beloved white one has started to crack.

Excellent for the price
These are very good headphones. Bought them for a long haul flight but didn't want to spend big money. These were cheap and made a real difference. They have active noise cancelling so you can really tell the difference when switching them on without music. They are also comfy and the battery (1 × AAA) lasts for ever. They don't completely cancel out all plane noise but enough to make a tangible difference.
