The Ultimate Grade 2 Math Workbook
This math workbook was a gift for a little girl going into 2nd grade. It's to help her prepare. She loves it and can't wait to get to the next subject each day. It's colorful and easy for her to follow. Great way to learn. THANK YOU!

Excellent book!
I dropped a star for the lack of a table of contents, or any way to locate the different skill lessons. But other than that, everything is great!I love that it starts off with simple arithmetic, introducing place value and comparison skills with incrementally increasing difficulty. It's perfect for my child, whom desperately needed the extra practice and review of earlier concepts. My child was falling behind at public school because she had no opportunity to practice where she needed help before the class would move on to the next lesson. I had to pull her out completely just to get time to study at home, because the school assigned way too much homework on unnecessary topics which left no time to study anything else before bed each day.I tested her at home after pulling her out, and she was practically still at the beginning of the grade standards! How can she be expected to improve on previous material when she still didn't understand that material that needed to be built upon? That's where this book came in. And it did a great job! It starts from the beginning, (see image of 1st page consisting of adding items to ten) and gradually increases in difficulty (see addition and subtraction of of 3-digit numbers and combining the skill with others [such as greater and less than] to produce a unique problem). Once we reached the Data Analysis section, I realized that I needed to jump around to get practice of each section thereafter a little each day to keep the skills fresh. Therefore I needed a way to know where each new skill started. As you can see in the image, I applied stickynotes to assist in locating specific skills. If the book came with a way to do this by simply applying different colors or indentations or SOMETHING, (and a basic table of contents) it would have been perfect. As it is now, it's still pretty great!Definitely recommend!....As a side note, after less than just a couple months of practice with this book, my child is now at the level she should be for exiting second grade. All we really needed was the time for her to actually learn each fundamental concept, and great examples to learn from, before continuing on to more advanced practice. And this book provided that in a way that was easy for her to understand and develop.I especially appreciated the tips and tricks provided for some basic skills. For instance, noticing doubles, or simplifying problems by creating a 10, as shown in the images. There are also fun puzzles throughout to keep it interesting, and my child is even excited every time we get to a word problem page! Those used to cause her great difficulty.
