Cantonape 500W Voltage Transformer, 220/240 Volts to 110/120V Step Up Step Down Voltage Converter, UK to US & US to UK

I bought this for use in the Caribbean, and I waited a long time to write this review to ensure I had used it for long enough. I am so impressed with it, I purchased a spare cable for it for 110v and ran my kitchen appliances on it, also some hand sanders, hair dryers etc. As long as the item was under 3000 there was no issue with it working. I kept my kettle plugged into it and that was in use daily for over 2 years. As long as you turn it off before you plug/unplug things, and not load up each outlet and run them at once this should last an incredibly long time. I have since donated it to a pet clinic and they are running some things off of it with no issues, and it has held up under very humid conditions. I did keep it covered with a tea towel when not in use, just to keep additional moisture and dust out of the components. I would absolutely buy this again if required. Worth every penny.

Very effective and surprisingly quiet.

Bought a 2,000 watt transformer to convert a 1,300 watt 110v Shop vac. The converter kept tripping after a few minutes. Startup surge did not cause a trip. I bought a second identical transformer for another location for the same model shop vac. It had no problems.When I contacted the seller, their initial excuse was that I needed to get a transformer that was rated 50% higher than the appliance. When I pointed out that the unit was rated more than 50% higher they changed their story and said that for a 1,300 watt vac I needed to buy their 5,000 watt transformer - meaning rated at 4 times the appliance - because of the startup surge. They ignored the fact that the transformer worked for a few minutes after startup. They also ignored the fact that a second unit had no problems whatsoever. Despite being covered by their warranty their solution was to offer a 20% discount on the larger model. In a nutshell they will not honour your warranty for a defective unit or one that fails during the warranty and their load ratings are nonsense. Be warned.

Small but powerful Step Up, Step Down, Power converter. Just set the input by sliding the rear selector switch to either 240 or 115 volts (UK & USA). You then plug the machine that you wish to use In to either the 115, USA Socket or the UK Socket on the front of the unit, turn the power on and you are ready to go.For just over £30 it saves you frying your other expensive kit.

It works!It's efficientIt is compactSaves me electricity costsThe U.S. plug sockets were very very stiff to use for first few times but now just a good secure tight fitThe front panel where the sockets are is a bit Flexi when you are pulling plugs out but using 2 hands and just keeping it in place does the trick nicelyAt first we thought the sockets too small for our American gadgets so my husband used an adapter just in case but I just really pushed them into the sockets and they are spot on now!WOULD BUY AGAIN

Brilliant piece of kit I’ve plug and American extension lead into the 110 port running 10 appliances from it without any issues,VERY IMPORTANT! Remember on the back to switch to 240 volt when plugging into uk socket as I forgot and left it on 110 and tripped the entire house

Step down has been working perfectly for my US tool charging needs.US plug is stiff and needs some convincing but after some use it softens.

Comes and works as advertised.
