* after 5minutes the light is already really warm! not sure if I want this on a wooden closet turned on for one hour or more..* cannot be connected to alexa - linking is not possible. neither from the meros app nor from alexa. Alexa mentioned that this skill is not supported anymore.

DO NOT BUY this as it is very fickle and a glitchy device!!!Apple HomeKit & Meross app pairing fails no matter what workaround you try & to be fair I have successfully paired around 40 HomeKit devices knowing my way around them**Meross has a dedicated QR coded article only for issue troubleshooting so you can imagine the number of issues.

Easy to install in most areas but I chose to take a more difficult route but it was worth it .Colours change to suit the mood , very bright and just add a bit of a smile on the faces of those who share them .Easy to alter length and everything comes in the box including very good instructions

I’ve just received the Meross Lightstrip which arrived quickly. Easy to set up and integrate with HomeKit and looks great using whichever colour option. As I’ve only just installed it I’ll see how it fares over time but at startup so far so good.

Installation of the led strip was straightforward, as was pairing. As usual with Meross products, ensure you don't have a 5gHz wifi bonded onto the 2.4gHz ID as many ISP supplied routers do these days as you may get problems.Initially when I installed the kit (using homekit) I noticed several issues with colours not syncing correctly and when telling the strip to turn off, it would leave the WW and W on very dimly if certain colours were selected. This led to quite a bit of frustration when a firmware update was not available for it on the Meross app.However coming back to it this morning and looking on the meross app once again, there was a firmware update showing which was a breeze to install. This has since fixed any bugs within homekit, save for the slightly janky colour wheels which have always been a minor niggle.Lastly, whilst the mains transformer comes with a good length of cable, the tails on the interface box are very short and could have done with being twice, if not three times longer as it makes it awkward to hide out the way so close to the end of the strip.Will definitely buy more in the future, but some caveats to note, hence the 4 Stars.I'll endeavour to update on the longevity of the tape attached to the chipboard rebated underside of a worktop.

This is a very good light, because it combines RGB colour LEDs and 2 different white LEDs with different colour temperatures in one single strip. It works well in the Apple Home app, but the Meross app allows adjustments of the LED colour temperature and brightnesses. That app provides tabs for white, colour and effects adjustment. The effects are interesting, but could do with some improvement.The adhesive works well, but in order to install the strip in different sections, you need 6-pin connectors and wire. Unfortunately only one 6-pin connector is provided, and Meross could not provide more. An extension for the DC 5.5 x2.1 mm M to F power lead in different lengths can be bought separately at a reasonable price, if you need to install the light some distance from the nearest power point.A very handy feature is the small rectangular box with a push button which the light strip plugs into, so that the light can be turned on or off without the app.All in all a very bright and full featured light at a highly competitive price compared to other products selling for nearly 3 times the price. Much better than the other offerings in a similar price.
