Great book to learn more about PKU

This is extremely well-written and goes into the history of the discovery of PKU, what it is like to live with PKU everyday, and what future treatments are on the horizon. Throughout, the author shares her own experience of living with PKU in vivid detail, including the challenges it brings. However, there are also lots of helpful pieces of advice, and looking forward to actual and potential future treatments beyond diet means this book also strikes notes of optimism.This would be an excellent book for anyone with PKU, their friends and family, and importantly clinicians treating those with PKU. Knowing what the lived experience is of PKU is essential to providing better care and this should be read by GPs, dieticians, and consultants alike. Highly recommend!

A clear, readable and fascinating dive into the world of PKU: I learned so much from this book. Essential reading for patients, their families, healthcare workers, dietitians and others.

My 4 year old niece has PKU and I want to understand as much as I can about how it will affect her, so I can support her through her life and have some knowledge of what she's going through. This book covered everything and is an invaluable resource. I will never truly know the challenges a life with PKU will entail but I feel this book has equipped me with some insights that will help me help my niece navigate through them.
