Q: How do you know you're not getting a counterfeit?

I own a spyderco amalgam. I do not have a specific way to know if it is a counterfeit or not, but as it is an excelent knife but not one of the popular ones I cannot find a reason why would someone take the trouble to imitate it. And if someone did, I still would enjoy it very much, the worst thing that could happen is that you will strop on sharpen more often. enjoy.

Q: Spyderco trips me out. I want to like Spyderco so much and this with the features going for it. But why the boring flat grind??

I am very happy with this folder It is flat ground which makes it extremely sharp. I carry it as a potential self defense option. It’s never going to be used for utility by me. One of the possible limits of a flat ground is durability. So if you’ll be using it a lot for various chores, then maybe consider another blade structure.
