I don't know
I had a major infestation of mice. When I say major I mean MAJOR! I killed 55 mice in traps (well actually my dog killed 8) I sprayed and sprayed and sprayed this and it smells good. You have to have a love of peppermint though! I felt like I was living in a gingerbread house. Strong smell. I did notice that when I sprayed it on the counters, the mice stayed off the counters. Cleaning was a little easier because I cleaned and disinfected daily! I opened a bottom cabinet and there were four varmints running all over one another trying to get out! I closed the door, got a bat, but only got one and dog got one. Sprayed around my stove as mice like your insulation, and this spray helped a lot with that. Why don't they make peppermint candles if mice hate the smell of peppermint? This helped though not as good as traps and plugging holes where they get in (and the bat). Got mice when neighbors moved out and mice just moved to my house.

This stuff is awesome!!
After going in for an oil change and being told there was a mouse nest inside my air cleaner box, I looked all over for something safe to use besides traps. I've sprayed it under the hood of the car around the air intake and fenders, and along the most likely routes the mice would take in our garage. The stuff smells great and I haven't seen any evidence of mice or droppings in our garage since using it. Awesome Product!

Not as good but ok
Not as good as Victor brand but it's not available anymore. This works good just needs more frequent applications.

Not a spray
I liked that it was easy to use and eventually the strong gag like peppermint odor eventually diminished. I did not like the mist invaded even closed off areas of our home. Moth balls would have been a more permanent solution that would not require reapplication. This may be more appropriate for a detached garage or stored car or travel trailer.

Expensive air freshener, but nothing else...
If you're ok with spending $17.99 to make your home smell nice, rather than spending $1 for an air freshener spray, then this is the product for you. If you're looking to prevent mice from entering and remaining in your house, look elsewhere.I live in a rural area, so mice are an expected nuisance, especially in the cold temperatures of winter. I don't believe in killing any living creatures, so I use humane traps to catch mice, and then relocate them far enough away that they won't return. In researching how to prevent mice from entering my home in the first place, I read that peppermint oil has a scent that repels rodents, so I decided to give this non-toxic solution a try. This particular product's description and reviews sounded promising, so I gave it a try. That was a mistake.I sprayed this product all around the inside and outside of my house: interior and exterior walls, window sills and doorframes, any possible entry points, and spots where I had recently caught mice. I repeated this process several times within the past 11 days. I was worried about how the spray would smell, but it actually has a very pleasant scent, which wafted throughout my home. The pleasing aroma ended up being the only benefit of using this brand of spray. Unfortunately, mice seem to enjoy the smell too.During the 11 days that I have sprayed Harris Peppermint Oil Mice & Rodent Repellent Spray, I have caught a total of 9 mice, always in spots that were doused with this repellent. Apparently mice are not repelled by this scent at all. They have not left my home, and they have not stopped entering my home. This "repellent" has not deterred them one bit. Since squirrels are also rodents, I was worried that spraying this product all around the outside of my house would deter them from eating from the feeders on my porch. It has not. All 13 of the squirrels are still congregating on my porch all day every day.I'm not sure if peppermint oil truly works as a rodent repellent or not. This particular product, Harris Peppermint Oil Mice & Rodent Repellent Spray, smells great, but is completely ineffective at repelling mice. If you want your house to smell nice, save yourself some money, and buy a $1 air freshener spray. If you want to keep mice out of your home, try something else...
