Very good, has allowed me to live much more comfortably with my hernia BUT BEWARE
I have a hereditary inguinal hernia that recently started bothering me about 7 months ago. I use this with a nice strong compression shorts (I have McDavid). I am able to lift and do things "OK" with them on and even play sports and go to the gym. I have a small right inguinal hernia. If I don't wear it and I left, I do get site pain and sometimes mild testicular discomfort. I stop any exercise if I feel pain.WHY I SAY BEWARE - I was able to play sports, do pilates, run and weight lift using these two items. I believe my abdominals have "compensated" for my hernia but now I feel a weakness around my belly button and fear I have started the beginning to an umbilical hernia. I will be getting surgery soon and hopefully I did not compromise the rest of my abdominal wall.

Velcro waist strap is cheap but the customer service is excellent
Update: after posting the following review, I simply must complement this company for standing behind their product and reaching out. My review got their notice and they responded in a very nice way. Few if any companies do this in today's world. Bravo: This belt is good and effective if adjusted properly, however the velcro used on this product is of a "cheap" grade and quality, causing it to lose it's grip and curl up around the edges. I expect that this velcro component would wear out even faster if it went through a wash cycle.

Good choice...with disclaimer note
This belt has proven to be pretty effective at helping me minimize the pain from my hernia. The one downside I note is that after only one month of use, the velcro is losing its ability to stick together and is starting to come undone even while in use. The belt will not function properly much longer at this rate.

Changed My Life
This belt allows me to live my life, until someday I can get the necessary surgery. Without it, well let's just say I'm Napoleon except my hand is in my pant's pocket. With it I can do daily tasks and even go on pretty challenging hikes! I still can't lift things that are too heavy and awkward, but I can lift lighter weights and even do pushups. The secret for me to make this belt work is to put it on under ALL my clothing, unlike the advertising image that shows it over one's undergarments. No, I'm not including a picture! By having the belt under the undergarments, pressing directly on the affected area, works great, and briefs will help hold the belt tight without need of that uncomfortable "under strap".I've used this belt (well, multiple orders of the same belt) for over two years now. I guess the one "bad" thing I could say about it is it's allowed me to put off surgery, which maybe I really should get, but I just don't have the time or money for that right now.

Velcro issues
Works very well for about 2 weeks then the Velcro gave out. The loop side of the Velcro wasn't 'deep' enough to hold. I sewed more Velcro on top of the other tab.It gives nice compression and the medium fits well for a 32" waist. It isn't bulky and doesn't show under jeans or khakis. Comfortable to wear all day.

Comfortable and great hernia support
While the pad is a bit thick for my needs I was able to shave it down and find the proper fit for me. I tried a few different ones and for me this one was the most comfortable and offered the proper support needed. While I've only had it a short while, this has so far held up on long work days (my job is physical so this is important to me). I have an active 3 month job coming up so we'll see how it holds up, I will probably buy a couple more to have a rotation, if you have an active life style or job I recommend getting more than one. I think their sizing is a little off so try a size down first.Pros:Comfortablegood design and seems to be of good quality as welloffers good support for active peoplegood pricecons:does not come with different thickness pads.sizing is a bit off, try going smallerwished it listed materials it is made of, as I am allergic to certain synthetic fibers. At leas say if its hypoallergenic or not.

Good for short-term use
It is pretty effective at reducing the discomfort of an inguinal hernia, but as others have noted, the Velcro tab starts wearing out after a few weeks. This would be good to get you through if you have upcoming surgery scheduled - but if you’re trying to live with a hernia long term, this may not last long enough for you.
