Solid, reliably made, built to last. Made in Japan not China!
I had the previous model for over 15 years. I eventually decided to throw it out because of "scaling" issues that were the result of me never having descaled it once. Zojorushi is an excellent brand and is made in JAPAN not China, so it is of the highest quality. The new model is basically the same as the older model, although a little shorter and fatter. We use this every day for tea, and other things needing instant hot water. You cannot go wrong with this famous Japanese brand still made in Japan!

This Water Boiler is a Must to Have
Love the look, the features and the functions. The panorama display is especially helpful to view the water level. If you use hot water frequently, this is a must-have appliance.

Great!
I got this after wanting a larger kettle than my 1.0 L Bonavita for some time, and I’m so glad I did. It’s easy to use, fits nicely on my desk, and matches my rice cooker. Yes, I do drink a lot of tea, but this has also been wonderful for coffee, oatmeal, instant noodles, and even water for cleaning. Having hot water on hand is great, and more importantly, the push-button dispense is much safer for my shaky hands than lifting a full kettle. I can set the timer when I go to bed or leave for work, and come back to hot water ready to go. Sure, I don’t absolutely need it, but in its few short days home this boiler has become my most used appliance and I wish I’d gotten one sooner! For occasional use it’s overkill, but If you’re a daily tea drinker, it’s worth the investment.

Zojirushi is the GOAT
My family previously owned a zojirushi water boiler for over 8 years, sadly it broke down last December. This model recently deceased in price and I am enjoying having hot water at my disposal throughout the day. Perfect for tea, convenience hot water, and reheating eggs. The flow rate is good and the 4L volume is sufficient.

Clearcoat and stickers are easily damaged
Just unboxed our new boiler this afternoon, and during the initial cleaning, I promptly scratched the clearcoat and the safety sticker on the top of the lid when I placed it gently on the countertop. Before I did this cleaning, I sat down for 30 minutes and read the entire f-ing manual. It warned me about every other potential hazard, but not this one. I'm very annoyed.Anyway, to avoid this problem, you'll want to set your lid down on a soft cloth rather than directly on your countertop.I'll update this review if anything else goes wrong...
