Deluxe Turntable Scrabble "1989 Edition"

My former wife and I loved this for many years, and when she took custody of it after our divorce, I searched all over to find this exact one again. I wouldn't have any other edition.The game board is covered with a nearly invisible thin clear plastic grid with recesses that hold each tile securely. This makes playing the tiles fun and solid-feeling, and is absolutely a must if you have cats or other pets who jump up on tables and walk through them, scattering everything, making it impossible to do jigsaw puzzles.The game board is also on a turntable, so at each player's turn the board can be rotated so that all the spelled words face each player right-side-up during that player's turn. The turntable rests on secure little rubber feet so there is no scratching or sliding on the table as the board is rotated.The tiles and tile racks are nice quality wood. I have played this weekly for about a decade, and only after that much use does some of the lettering begin to fade on a few tiles, but when that happens one can reorder more tiles.This is by far the best version of this game that is out there.

The game was packaged securely and arrived in such good condition that we didn't inventory the tiles. Fast forward nine months to playing the game (we have multiple sets at various locations), and we realized some tiles were missing, while others had too many. It made for a memorable and humorous game! I contacted the seller that same evening (a Saturday), and today, just four days later, I received a replacement set (not just the missing tiles). Such wonderful customer service is refreshing and very much appreciated!

I purchased this mid October to have available during Thanksgiving week so I had not opened it until then. The plastic is very cheap. The underside mechanism is cheap plastic also, so the board does not rotate smoothly. Depending on the table surface, everything rotates together. If you are a scrabble aficionado, it may make sense to spend more money and get a wood set. The only functional part is the top that keeps the tiles in place. But even that is cheap material and appears to be coming off the underside cardboard. The return date has passed so now I am stuck with this. So if you purchase don't expect much.

I had this set years ago and it got misplaced during a move. The board is nice and sturdy and turns easily. One of the best things is that you don't have to worry about sliding letter tiles because of the recessed spaces in the board. The letters and bag were in perfect condition. The letter racks are wood and were in pristine condition. There were even some score pads in the box. I am very pleased with this purchase.

It was a used item. The quality is very good. The box was a little worn ( understandably).Looking forward to many matches.

This was a gift for my granddaughter and she was delighted with it. I was very happy to find a turntable Scrabble game for a much more affordable price than brand new. The game was in "like-new" condition, just as stated.

The Scrabble game is as advertised. Great for the price. I only wish Hasbro would continue making the turntable style. We would consider buying a brand new game if so. The used one works for vacation.

Very happy to have been able to find a used board in excellent condition for a fraction of a new one. A swivel board is a must have andthis version is so much lighter then the wood swivel game board. Makes it easy to take camping, the cabin or just over to a friends fora night of fun.
