I should say that I have been doing network administration for a living and have dealt with configuring most of the major brand network switches out there. With this one I didn’t have much luck. First of all, when I start configuring VLAN, tagging and so on, the web interface becomes so sluggish that I have to reboot the switch to get it fixed. Checked the firmware - it was up to date. Tried with different browsers - the same result. Once I managed to configure the VLANs correctly, my firewall couldn’t obtain DHCP lease from my cable modem. I’ve never seen that before. It’s like the VLAN was there but it wasn’t. After spending couple of hours troubleshooting I had to return it. It shouldn’t be so much pain configuring network switch. I ended up fixing the power supply of my old DELL PowerConnect and still use that one.

Great value.Pros:- 16 ports is enough for most home networks to grow- gigabit speed across all ports with the right cables- port speed LEDs and cable test diagnostics to ensure everything is running at gigabit speed- plug and play if you don't want to change anything- static LAG if you have multiple switches

did not work for me , could not connect to my work VPN , the internet connection could drop when i try to use VPN. sent it back , still waiting for a refund, i had to pay for the return and the seller want to charge a re-stocking fee, not of which was mentioned when i ordered , so be aware.

Second switch from TP-Link. Upgrading from SG108 to this SG116E which has additional functionality (accessible through http portal). Very solid built quality (all metal case). 5/5
