I bought this for my sister, since she was cooking a thanksgiving dinner this year. The old recipe from my grandmother called for Summer Savory in the stuffing (dressing) but it is a very hard spice to locate. Anyway, it is a great spice to use in soups, stews, and - of course - grandma's old recipe. I'll be making turkey noodle soup tomorrow, and will be using summer savory along with other spices that work well with poultry (sage, thyme, marjoram, parsley).Anyway, the product was fresh and added just the right flavor to the stuffing. Like Grandma used to make.

This herb is a good substitute for pepper, though the flavor is not peppery; more like lemon. I needed to spice a peas-and-carrots dish, as both veggies work with summer savory. I shopped four local markets before turning to Amazon. What I received was fresh and flavorful.

Local grocery doesn’t carry this spice. My husband makes a flavorful Chex mix from an old family recipe that calls for summer savory. Happy I found it!
