Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday: A Novel (Transformers (Ballantine Books))
A**.
A very interesting prequel of the Transformers Movie directed by Michael Bay from the year 2007.
I liked how this story took place before the movie on what happened before the Autobots and the Decepticons came to Earth in search of the Allspark. In the beginning, it shows the discovery of Megatron in the Artic, uncovered by a secret government called Sector Seven planning to move him to their base for studying. The agency sent four of their members into space to search other beings like Megatron to see if there is life out there. Unfortunately, the four people did indeed found other beings while cruising in their shuttle, a race of mechanical bipedial giants that are engaged in a long civil war between good and evil, and they themselves are caught in the middle of the battle. The atmosphere of this story impacted me on what situations the people face in the cold Artic in trying to move the giant mechanical being, danger lurks in the treacherous blizzard, or the encounters of both Autobots and Decepticons that made human kind know that they are not alone in the universe. If people would like to know the beginning of the movie, then this should be the story they need to find out the whole setting.

This would make a great movie
I really liked this book. It’s sort of a prequel to the movies. There is some annoying earth stuff that went on and on but the Autobots and humans make contact in space! The usual fighting between bots and cons but you could feel the excitement.

Well-written and worthy of the time it takes to read.
Foster is a good writer, and when making fiction based off an existing franchise that's what really counts. I think the Transformers, by their very nature, are best appreciated visually. I mean, giant robots are hard to portray by just written description, you need to SEE how big they are. However, we have the movie images of the 'bots to run our imaginations off of, and Foster can tell a story quite well, so this comes off as being an interesting prequel if you already like the movie. Granted, we know nothing shocking will happen to many of this book's characters because we see them in the film, but the tale here definately adds some depth to the characters and creates a little more meaning to the goals in the film. It is sci-fi about giant alien robots, so you need to suspend a lot of disbelief to enjoy this thoroughly, but the plot is smooth, the characters are consistent, and the action does pull you in. If you even think you're interested in this genre then you'll enjoy reading this book.

Great Book
This book was very good. Lots of action and interesting characters. The human characters showed great spirit and tenacity. Soldiers who were not afraid to sacrifice themselves to get the job done. The book was exciting and moved at a very fast pace, never a dull moment. The only flaw, and this was more in the way the book was edited, and not in the writing, was there would be a change in the dialogue or the action and there was only a difference in the paragraph. An extra space between the paragraphs would have been good enough to let the reader know that the scene was changing. Otherwise, A great book. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

A must-read for Transformers fans
I have read this book many times, but lost it due to unforseen circumstances. The book was a very engaging read, had a lot of depth into the background of the Transformers, and is an excellent prequel to the live action movies. I highly recommend to any avid readers and any fans of the Transformers.
