Q: Do the side pockets hold 40oz drink tumblers? They're pretty top heavy, worried they'll fall out consistently

I think a 40oz water bottle might be too big. I put a 20oz thermos bottle in with no problem, and depending on the dimensions, a 1 liter bottle would likely fit. It is pretty large and expands if you wanted to carry it inside the backpack.
