Well built
I have been using this torch for nearly 12 months in all weathers with no problems, the only minor niggle that I have is the spot beam is not as narrow as I would like it to be. Light output is good even at distance both on spot and flood beams, what they don't really tell you is that you can program exactly what pressing the on/off button does and in what sequence you would like i.e. if you want low/ medium/ high for instance then you can program that, if you only want just high/off you can have just that there are many combinations there are also flash, pulse, strobe, etc. etc. This is a useful feature as it saves you having to keep pressing the button and scrolling through every feature before you can turn off the torch. Programing is a bit of a pain I have to admit but there are some useful U-Tube videos on how to do it. Battery life is very good dependent on lumen output but please be aware that the battery in this torch is not the same size as a standard 18650 lithium, it uses a 21700 lithium which is much longer and fatter hence the 4500mAh capacity, the remaining battery level charge is indicated by either a Green, Amber or Red light surrounding the on/off button. Also be aware that on High 1400 lumen output the head of this torch does get hot and this is not a fault with the torch ! You focus the beam from spot to flood by twisting the head of the torch hence me mentioning the heat. Overall this is a well made durable torch which I do recommend. Hope this review helps !

Outstanding Torch
I brought this torch for work. I spend a lot of my working day out in rural areas (Rolling hills, forests, mud tracks etc) with winter drawing near I decided I needed a decent torch.I’ve used cheap torches for years. Usually they stopped working within a month.I splashed out on a LEDLenser after watching some YouTube reviews and eventually settled on the P7R Core.Love the box design and well packaged. The Torch is just incredible! The brightness!! Never seen anything like it. The torch has a fair amount of weight to it than previous torches I’ve owned but that comes with buying a higher quality torch. The settings are quite impressive. Up to 10 pre sets (I use 3: High power, low power and Strobe) Lower power is particularly useful for reading paperwork and maps.Well made and a decent warranty. I highly recommend this torch! Two downsides: 1) The torch can get rather hot when on high power for extended periods of time (Medium power maybe a useful compromise between power and heat) don’t put in your pocket or on surfaces while using this.2) The charger uses LEDLensers own connector so if you happen to forget the lead. You’re in abit of a pickle. No USB-C or Micro USB.

Go to torch
I use this every day for Pest Control it’s without a doubt the brightest torture I’ve ever used. My only criticism is it may be too bright but well-made and requires charging quite often.

Good and powerful torch. The multiple modes are complicated. BEWARE THE MAGNETIC CHARGING HEAD!
For straightforward use as a beautifully made and very powerful torch, this is excellent - as it should be for the price. The USB powered charging cable with magnetic attachment is a big improvement on devices requiring a mains adapter, and means that the torch can be taken and charged almost anywhere. There a a few dislikes. I preferred the the one-handed push/pull beam focusing of my LedLenser P7s to the twist action focusing of the P7R. My real problem with this torch is the single push button control for all the modes. These have to be preselected by multiple button presses, then all selected modes have to be scrolled through to find and activate the one required. Not exactly ideal if you ever need the defensive strobe and emergency SOS modes. I think LedLenser should take another look at this. I was also surprised and disappointed by the lack of any sort of carry case or pouch for a torch of this value. But as a basic and very powerful torch with three brightness levels, it's a top performer.ADDENDUM: BE CAREFUL OF THE MAGNETIC CHARGING HEAD! This is charged from a USB socket. When I removed it from the torch, the magnet some how clamped itself to a USB mini plug, and shorted it out. This was a powered USB hub and within minutes whole hub and cable had become too hot to touch. If I had left the room I think it could well have caught fire. I think LedLenser should provide a cover for this magnet.

Very good torch
I like Ledlenser products. This torch is light enough to carry around on a long walk at night and not really notice, yet heavy enough to be reassuring. I programmed the button (read the manual folks, it's really not that hard) so the default brightness at switchon is medium. Further presses go high, low, then off. Medium is perfect for walking and the battery life is perfectly acceptable to me at this brightness. Charging takes a few hours and I like the magnetic connector that the cable uses. I'd have been even happier if the knurling on the barrel was slightly more grippy but that's only a nitpick. The Signature is a lot more expensive than the Core and really didn't seem worth the extra cost. Yes it's a little brighter, but that comes at a cost of battery life. Very happy with the Core model.

Top tier torch
I honestly don’t know how a torch can be made any better. Expensive but you get what you pay for. It is small, amazingly bright, easy to recharge and is of premium build quality.
