Works with SmartThings
Easy set up on my SmartThings hub. I was a total dumb dumb with the batteries on the first one I ordered. The batteries need to be installed in the opposite direction. Looks just like the one I bought back in 2017 except the logo on the front. The siren is very loud especially if you're holding it. The green LED does not seem to be very obtrusive, however, I'd probably still cover it with a light filtering sticker.

Works with ring and battery operated
I was looking for smoke alarm which is battery operated since I don’t have a hard wire available. I want it to work with ring so that it can integrate with a central monitoring system to satisfy our insurance company’s new requirement. This one fits the bill. It’s affordable, and it took me 1 min to set it up with ring. Highly recommended.

Don't last long but are best zwave smoke/co detector
So I am currently purchasing my 4th one of these zwave smoke/co detectors from First Alert. I do like them and for the most part they work great with my nexia zwave system. The stay paired up and don't eat batteries too quickly. I change them when the indicator on my system shows under 50% which is over a year. And why am I purchasing my 4th one in the last 4 years? Well I only have 2 in my home but they do not last very long so I have had to replace them more often than seems like I should. Actually I bought 2 in 2016 and had to replace one in 2019. If you get 5 quick chirps then you have received the "end of life" indication. Nothing you can do but replace it! Now that newer one has stopped working properly and just started indicating "smoke" when there is none. It decided to wake me with a false alarm at 2:30 am of course and there is no smoke in my home. I tried changing batteries (they are at 86%) and also took it outside but nothing will make it stop chirping for smoke. So now I am replacing this one which is only 10 months old. I am going to try to get a warranty replacement but I won't sleep well without having a working detector so here I am ordering ANOTHER one!3 stars awarded because they don't last as long as they should. Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to keep ordering replacements!Edit: I upped to 4 stars because when I called First Alert they had no problem with replacing my most recent malfunctioning detector. I bought it in August 2019 (now July 2020) and it was manufactured in Jan 2019 so its not like it was old stock.

Peace of Mind - Seamlessly Integrated
I couldn’t be happier with this smoke and CO alarm. Setup was incredibly easy—within minutes it was paired with my home automation system (hubitat). I love the fact that it’s battery powered, so I didn’t have to worry about wiring or placement limitations. The alerts are fast and reliable, both on the device and via my hubitat app, which is a game changer when I’m away from home. It’s reassuring to know I’ll be notified instantly if something’s wrong. The dual functionality (smoke + CO detection) in one compact unit is super convenient too.The build quality feels solid, and it even has a sleek, modern design that blends well with my home decor. Highly recommend for anyone looking to boost their home safety and take advantage of smart home features. Worth every penny!

First Alert ZCombo Smoke/CO Detector Works Great with VeraLite!
I ordered this via Amazon Prime and it arrived 2 days later as expected; it arrived new and in its original clamshell. The testing button set off the test notifications, and they sounded. The audiable warnings are either 3 beeps separated by pauses for smoke or 4 beeps separated by pauses, and along with the loud beeps are the LED lights that illuminate next to the CO or Fire icons.I connected this to my Z-Wave network which is controlled by a VeraLite. It paired very easily following the instructions, I simply set my VeraLite in pair mode to add a new device, inserted the batteries into the detector, held the test button as I pushed in the battery door. The VeraLite paired on the first try. I didn't get a CO test kit, and am just hoping that it works as the smoke does. There were 2 things that would make me happier with this unit are, first the only way to test the Z-Wave alerts is to set the detector off for either smoke or CO as the test button doesn't trigger an event on the Z-Wave controller, so I bought a can of smoke to test it which worked great. Within a few seconds the alarm went off, and I received the alert from my Vera as expected. I also already have 2 talking smoke/COdetectors which are placed around the house, so another thing I was unhappy about is that there is no voice alarm on these, but at least they have Z-Wave smoke/CO detectors at all.Since everything works as advertised I gave this 5 stars, and would recommend this to those who want a Z-Wave smoke/CO detector. I will probably eventually buy a second, but I'm hoping they'll come out with a talking alarm version before I do.

If You are a Smartthings USER
If you are a smartthings user, be aware, it is not intuitive at all on how to add this to your network (this is more a dig directed at SamSung than FirstAlert). The Alarm works great, adding it to the network it a challenge.1 I choose add a device,2. then chose First Alert3 it had me scan the code (at the bottom it had a link for setup without code)4 then took me to a page that said "prepare the device". Nothing else, and no instructions in the documentation. What I did was to cancel the setup, then go thru the first two steps again. on the third step I chose the "Setup without code". It took me to a page that instructed me to remove batteries, put them back in and as you were closing the tray, press the button on the firealarm for 2 seconds. I did that, then it asks for the first 4 digits of the code on the package, and the fire alarm. I did that, and it works like a charm.
