It Works!!!
This umbrella is a game-changer for blocking out UV rays! My son plays baseball in Texas, and it’s absolutely essential during the scorching summer months. It feels noticeably cooler under this umbrella compared to a regular one—I never leave home without it.It’s generously sized like a golf umbrella, easily fitting two adults underneath. It’s sturdy, wind-resistant, and comes with a convenient cover that slips on easily for storage and transport. Perfect for staying shaded and comfortable at outdoor events!

A must for outdoor working!!!
As a valet at a cancer center, I need to be curbside in direct sunlight by my podium all afternoon, with occasional breaks for extreme heat/cold episodes. A patient recommended one of these to me, asking the question "do you want to risk getting skin cancer working at a cancer center?" (Obviously I don't.) I ordered this on a Wedsnesday, had it Friday morning in time for my next shift, & now I can't live without it! I must have had 20-30 patients & staff ask me about it (possibly because of its distinctive metallic silver material) & I'm sure I've sold a bunch of them for Amazon. It is STUNNINGLY obvious that the temperature beneath it is 15 degrees cooler than the ambient temp., it's a 55 spf sunblock equivalent, it blocks nearly all UV light, & it's produced using recycled plastic bottles! Stepping under it is like stepping indoors - it's that effective! Between my Yeti cooler, neck air conditioner, cold water spray bottle & this AMAZING very well-made umbrella, the occasional New Jersey 100°+ summer heatwaves have been much more bearable. It doesn't hurt to know that Amazon sells this exact model for $35.00 LESS than UV Blocker sells it for on their website - a great deal for someone like me on a fixed income. My advice - DO NOT HESITATE TO GET ONE FOR YOURSELVES!!!

Excellent Sun Umbrella (+an update)
I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend so much for an umbrella. It’s pricey! However I needed good sun protection and gave this a try. Worth it! It really does help in reducing the rays and does keep me cooler. So far anyway-hasn’t been tested yet in the mid summer triple digits. I wish the inside was black instead of the navy blue. I feel that black would be easier on the eyes by further reducing light or glare. The silver outer fabric is fine so far too. Some reviewers mentioned it rubbing off. Not on mine and I handle it all the time. One important mention—the handle is amazingly grippy. Think golf club or tennis racket or even bike grips. Same idea. NOT the cheap plastic on other comparable golf umbrellas. Spines are sturdy and strong and have held up in wind easily. Love that it came with a good cover but it doesn’t have a shoulder strap (bummer!).I fully recommend this umbrella for sun protection. Worth the money.Update: Well, summer finally came into the triple digits. It’s been about 110 and that’s just the start. Using this umbrella still works not only blocking the sun but it does actually make the heat more tolerable. Feels cooler and helps harness the cooler air inside but has a vent so there is air flow to cool me off. I don’t know how it works, but it does! I still recommend this umbrella despite the cost. Still wishing it came with a strap on the sleeve.

Great protection from the sun
This umbrella truly blocks the sun UV rays. The temp drops at leave 10°-20° while using this umbrella. The larger size covers my head as well as arms. Priced well too.

Effectively keeps the sun off my old bald head, face, ears, and neck while I walk.
Nice product.Works well - I don't have to slap on sunscreen if I'm using it. I've been careful in the sun ever since surgical removal of melanoma (and several melanoma-infused lymph nodes) 12 years ago. I use this in conjunction with breathable UPF 50+ clothes, hat, face/neck covering, and gloves. And sunglasses.I'm probably filtering out 99% of all direct and reflected UV rays while equipped this way.I'm okay with being pale. I just supplement with oral vitamin D capsules.I walk 12 to 20 miles daily, so I'm out in the sun several times a day for hours... and need the protection.Happily, the UV-Blocker umbrella I received does not sport a large logo (as depicted in the product photo). There's a large UV-Blocker logo on the umbrella's soft carry case (which has its own nice shoulder-carry strap), but that doesn't bother me. The umbrella itself only has one small logo that's been placed on one of its two small closure straps.I use this regular length umbrella when hiking near home (easy to use, open, and close), and carry a smaller collapsable compact sun umbrella while traveling. On stormy, rainy, gusty days, I use a regular black heavy-duty umbrella (not sun-specific)... one that won't flip inside out. Regular black tightly-woven rain umbrellas only afford 90% UV radiation blockage... but I've never had a heavy-duty rain-specific umbrella flip inside out during a raging storm. On days with raging wind I forego an umbrella and simply wear rain gear. Why risk damaging a sun-specific umbrella on stormy days? Because their UV-blocking fabric is treated and heavier, sun-specific umbrellas aren't heavy-duty constructed - so that they'll be light enough to carry around all day on sunny days.Dunno if the UV-Blocker umbrella actually would flip inside out and break, but I've read in the comment section that that's happened before, so I only use mine on sunny calm days. Don't want to risk damaging it since it does a great job blocking UV rays. I dislike wearing sunscreen lotion.I bought the J handle type so it'd be easy to control and easy to adjust handholds.Bought this fairly small size, because certain park trails I hike on are fairly narrow, and I don't want to be crowding anyone passing from the opposite direction. This size works well. Large enough to effectively keep the sun's rays off, and small enough not to be intrusive to other hikers. Some have complained about their sun-blocking umbrella fabric's odor. Mine did not have a strong odor. If yours does, I've read online (from people who'd bought another brand's UV blocking umbrellas) that opening the umbrella up and airing it out outside (for up to a month in some cases?) allows the chemical smells to dissipate. I didn't have to do this, but if you need to, that's the solution that others have suggested.Hope you'll get as good results from yours as I've gotten from mine. Best wishes to you in your outdoor endeavors. Be safe. :)
