I guess perhaps my pump is a dud, because the behavior of mine can not be described the same way all the other reviews are saying. Even after priming and the output hose never going above the pump, this POS will only pump about 1/2 the time. If it can actually get started, its fairly quick, but I have stopped using and have since purchased a chugger and havent had a single issue since. To bad I can't get a refund for this piece of crap
