Yutaka Takana Pickled Mustard Leaf 1 kg

Got it for a Taiwanese beef noodle soup recipe, very impressed by it. Obviously 1kg is a lot to get through in 3 days (shelf life after opening), but given the price we've got good use out of it. I enjoyed so much I ate some as a snack on their own. I know it's packed full of MSG and preservatives but damn it tastes good

Great for adding to your meals to get the greens you don't like to eat.Can be used to create your own Chinese pickles by adding further ingredients and storing in small jars.

Great value for the amount you get and it tastes great! A little more on the sweeter side than the picked veg I'm used to but it's nice to eat just as is from the pack and also for cooking (e.g. With pork).

Liked the product previously so purchased again. Similar in appearance but not the same product, still good value for the price and can be used for making rolled Sushi.

It took a few weeks to arrive because I was outside of the UK (still within EU). The takana arrived DRY and BITTER.This could be either from the long travel, or just being a rare product that nobody orders and is being staying for too long in warehouse, OR just very very poor quality takana.If you've lived in Kyushu you know the takana shouldn't be only bitter, it's a nice mix between spicy, salty and a note of bitter. With my package you can't feel the salt and the spiciness at all.Obviously it was a long shot to find good Takana outside of Kyushu and will not order again.

Very good quality. Bought 2 bags kept fridge still got first bag lots left still fresh 2nd bag still sealed feed to my vegetarian reptiles such Iguanas , uromastyx lizards and tortoise they love it. This last well too. Will buy more I hope not stop selling this

You get a total of 5kg as 5 bags of 1kg each, so this is good value. The pickles are crunchy without be overwhelmed by the pickling process. In fact just right. I think this will prove to be very versatile product.
