The Angelus Brand Leather Dye in Jet Black is a high-quality, 3 Oz dye designed for decorating and staining smooth leather and vinyl. It guarantees a deep, lasting color that won't rub off, crack, or peel, making it ideal for rejuvenating shoes, saddles, belts, and purses. Excellent coverage for black shoes
I used this after using Angelus de-glazer, in order to change the color of two pairs of new shoes from "cognac" (reddish-brown) to black. I did all the work outside because it contains glycol ether. It's best to do the work over a drop cloth because the dye is runny enough that the applicator will drip if it is jarred. I found that inserting the ball of the applicator only half-way into the dye gave me the best control. Also, I masked off parts of the shoe that I didn't want to dye, and used a cotton swab (eg, Q-Tip) on the edges of the area to be dyed. The dye immediately produced a deep black leather in a single coat. There was a slight unevenness in the appearance after dying, I think because of the natural texture of the leather, but that disappeared entirely after I had polished the shoes with black shoe-polish.The final result looked great. I got two new pairs of black shoes for a small fraction of what they would have cost if I'd bought them in black instead of cognac.

Great purchase!
Purchased this leather dye to change color of a belt from brown to black. Worked perfectly! Color still looks like day one after six months. Highly recommend!

Super easy to use and addicting 🙂
I think I dyed every bag and wallet that I owned 😂😂😂I got it to dye my Coach Rogue 25.I got it two years ago but I never wore it because I was not in love with the colour. It took me less than 25 min. For the whole bag, 2 removable straps and the 2 little charms. I used a flat makeup brush to go over all the stitches and small details arojnd the suede interior first. After that i went with the little fluffy tool that comes with the dye. Then I did another 2 purses, 2 wallets and a pair of ancle boots. It was so easy and I would never be able to tell that's not how they all came originaly. I thought I will go over a second time once everything was compleately dry the next day. I still have 1/3 of the bottle full. Once everything dried again I conditioned all the items with body lotion. 🤭 It worked. If there are any silver or gold foil embossings on the leather you need to wipe it with a soft towell right away after you aplly the dye. I waited on one of the bags till it-s dry and I couldn't remove it even with alcohol. So one Kate Spade embossing is compleately hidden... 🤷♀️Any ways, it worked exellent for me!

Jet black
I wanted my vintage Dooney & Bourke to be black as night, I'm very pleased with the results of one coat (half the bottle.) After a few days of drying I've noticed some residue on my hands, hoping that the clear finishing glaze will fix that.

Love it! Save money and buy this now.
Why didn’t I start dying my shoes sooner??? This product is awesome, I dyed some shoes that would’ve cost me over $70 to replace and I’m gonna get many more months out of them because they look brand new. This is so much better than and smarter than spending extra money just because of wear and tear. Other than than the outside of my shoes, which are suede, the interior was fine. So I use this to dye the exterior of the suede brushes em out with my finger nail brush that I have now dedicated as my shoebrush. Lol The finish is perfect, they look brand new. I am thrilled. If you’re thinking of doing this, I say go for it.

THIS SH*T ACTUALLY WORKS!
I was hesitant to buy a leather dye, since my experience with other brands before had been a bit mediocre. However, this one in particular had great reviews on Amazon, so I tried it out. I was looking to dye a pair of brown booties I got off of eBay—for a great price, but not too great of a color (imo).I didn’t buy the leather prep they advise you to use, so I can’t base this review off of following the written directions, but using just plain rubbing alcohol to strip the leather a bit worked fine for me. I did use the tool that came with the dye as it seemed to apply more than the fine toothbrush I used for smaller areas and details, and I liked that. I did three, light coats (the directions suggest two) and then let them dry overnight. Used a simple beeswax salve to shine, and BAM! These suckers are now BLACK!I can’t say so far how the dye holds up over time as I haven’t worn them, but will update accordingly. For now, I am very impressed with the transformation. You’d never know I used a dye on them! Yeehaw!
