Grand Parade Coffee, 3 Lbs Organic Kenya AA Unroasted Green Coffee Beans, Muiri Estate Single Origin, Specialty Arabica - Fair Trade

My husband and I both love coffee...For many years it was our "breakfast" and mornings just aren't complete without it. However, around 2020 or just after the madness started, we noticed our favorite brands of specialty coffees were not tasting right. One bag would taste fine, but the next would have a sour/rancid taste...so bad, we would have to throw it out! Some would have a very mild sour/rancid flavor, and some very strong, some not at all. We ordered from various of our favorite brands and were finding this happening to all of them. We thought, maybe it has to do with coffee sitting on ships or in warehouses...we weren't sure what was happening. Now, years later with it still happening I finally decided to start ordering green coffee to roast myself and see if that would fix this problem. My husband was actually saying he may switch to TEA!!! I thought, this is getting desperate! I started with ordering green coffee from south america...couldn't believe it but that rancid taste was barely there in those! Now we know this taste is coming from something the growers are doing! A chemical possibly? Not sure, so then I started ordering ORGANIC green coffee beans and that rancid/sour taste is GONE! The last coffees I've ordered on here were from Africa - I decided to try a different continent. And I think I have finally found a couple of favorites on here for us to order regularly. We really like this Kenya Organic Muiri Reserve and also the Ethiopia Organic is lovely as well. I'm so relieved to finally have wonderful coffee in the house again that we can count on being delicious! Still a bit concerning to know that something is being done to the coffees at the grower level that is making it taste rancid, though. Something changed in 2020 with the coffees out there, for sure! If you love good coffee...I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one from Grand Parade!

Have tried a few beans and haven't really found my favorite flavor. This Kenya blend may be it.Like that it's organic, so maybe fewer pesticides and a cleaner bean.Have only roasted dark so far, but that really seems to "caramelize" the flavor and make the chocolate and darker flavors pop.Very clean taste and beans are packaged well and clean. Will take me a while to get through the bag, but I'll likely purchase again.
