That is a foreign policy not a US policy. Like the California cancer warnings on everything. While I am not going to say these are completely safe, after reading through articles it is important to note that the two chemicals in the collars have been around for 30 years and gave been used as flea/tick treatments for that long. We have no evidence suggesting that there is a danger to humans when used correctly. While I generally do not use flea products of any kind, this year, after not needing anything for over 10 years, is a bad year. I tried Frontline and it did nothing but turn one of my cats into a heap of sores. We are using this collar from here on out until the fleas are eradicated. Just use it correctly and for the least amount of time possible. Treat your home. Keep cats indoors.

In all seriousness probably not. But at the same time I actually had a Bayer rep come to my school (I was in a Vet program) and he wears one to all the seminars he goes to in order to prove that it is safe. (His predecessor used to drink k-9 advantix to prove the same point) Yes there are people that react to some of the chemicals, but that can be true of soaps and detergents and other products that ARE made for humans. At the end of the day its up to you.

what is the weight for a large dog collar?

I ordered three large, even though my three dogs vary in size and weight. But the options were only for small dog or large dog. All three of my dogs needed the collars trimmed, because they come long enough for probably a Great Dane. I kept the cuttings, intending to dispose of them, until my neighbor, who is on Social Security, saw them, asked for them, sewed them together, and made his little dog a collar out of the cuttings. By the way...my collars went on on July 6, 2013, and two months later not a flea in sight. I welcome this opportunity to help anyone learn about this great product. No drops EVER lasted more than three weeks, and the good ones aren't cheap. Hope this helps.

Do these really work? My dogs are outside all the time, day and night, on a farm and fleas are a terrible problem. Nothing non prescription works.

We're in month 5 of our third collars for each of my two dogs. While my dogs are not out 24/7, they are out many times throughout the day, 30 minutes to a couple hours at a time, and we live in a very rural, thickly wooded area. The collars have lasted 8 months and I have taken them off at 9 months just because. I haven't seen a flea and the only ticks I've seen have been half-dead on the outside of their fur, like they were trying to get away. They don't smell like other flea collars, either. There are seven dogs in my neighborhood wearing these collars because I so highly recommended them and four dog-owners glad that they followed my advice. I just can't say enough good about these collars. Seriously.
