American Psycho [Blu-ray]

I read the book many years ago and found this adaptation truly excellent. The cast is amazing with a cast of indistinguishable yuppy suit fillers who nobody can tell one from the other. It's directed rather well by a woman, Mary Harron (so no mysogyny charges please), and Patrick Bateman is played to a tee by Christian Bale. Do yourself a favour and watch this, but remember it is a satire (or uncomfortable plain truth wrapped in satire). Now you'll have to excuse me I have to return some video tapes.......

I mean I bought this as a joke to watch with the boys because of the whole Patrick Bateman Sigma thing. But the movie is actually pretty good. 👍

Watched this film loads of times and it brilliant!!

Bales performance of Patrick is phenomenal, a great adaptation of the book and they take consideration of the audience by removing a few disturbing scenes that were featured in the chapters, there’s a good message about corporate greed, lack of empathy in companies, and a need to fit in with the elite behind Bateman that Bale portrays incredibly. I would recommend, not for a horror movie night but for more of a psychological thriller night.

Patrick Bateman, played by Christian Bale, is a hot-shot who any outsider would say seems to have it all - An amazing body, a dream apartment, lots of money. Yet inside of his life, his counterparts view him as virtually unrecognisable to anyone else.The general theme of the movie is that Bateman craves the approval and recognition of his counterparts; yet he already has it all - all while his peers are all ironically too busy focused on themselves to care. You watch as Bateman, a psychopath slowly goes to more, and more extreme measures to feel superior to other people - to finaly feel recognised.I recommend this.

I was expecting a tense thriller and got a rather silly and boring film
