WONDERFUL alternative to scraping shards off a block of beeswax!!
I use beeswax to harden the soap I make, not for its fragrance, looks, color or any other beeswaxy attributes that may exist. So naturally I was leery of trying it in such an easy- to- measure format. I’m used to scraping/ bashing a concrete- like block to get the chunks I need, to harden my soap to a rock-like consistency. I didn’t know if pellets would perform as well as beeswax shards, because I wasn’t sure if they were actual ‘pellets’ of beeswax, or if they’d been somehow chemically modified, like wood stove ‘pellets’ used to be part of a tree, till they ended up in a factory for compressing, chemical modification and transformation into something almost completely different. But I bought these anyway, interested in the ease of measuring them in this state vs scraping, unsure if I'd actually end up using them or not. Then tragedy struck and I ran out of my rock-like hunks of beeswax, what to do?! Oh yeah… try these things.I absolutely LOVED- I can’t think of a stronger word- how incredibly, life changingly easy they were to measure, WOW! I am so anal with my oil measurements, that making soap is SO much less fun now than it used to be before I got my scientific scale that weighs ingredients to the hundredth of a gram. A naturally semi- time consuming part of soap making became more so now that I can scrutinize and monitor how much each drip, drab and drop weighs. Adding to the time I’ve naturally burdened myself with (instead of my old, ‘it’s close enough, so who cares’ philosophy of measurement and weight) , peeling off eyelash-width scrapings of beeswax isn’t a fast process either, making all of it almost too laborious to bother with.Measuring these made me wish everything came in pellets, even liquid oils!Because even more important than the incredible ease of measuring, I learned the very first batch I used them in that pellets have the same exact qualities as the hard to work with chunks!! Fresh from the mold, My slippery, stupid hands dropped the entire 2# soap loaf I’d just carefully unmolded before I could rest it on its drying rack. I had not even completed uttering my obscenity when it hit the floor HARD. Convinced I’d broken off all the cute little details, I was shocked to see everything- every corner, every swirly appendage, every fake ocean wave on top was fully intact, as if my hands hadn’t been stupid and slippery 2 seconds earlier! Wow! A panic inducing test for sure, but I am really glad I know that I can highly recommend this product now!

Nice Beeswax pellets.
I like it. I tried my first use of it and it worked fine. It definitely has an odd odor for which I was not prepared. It was really strong from being packaged and shipped, but it dissipated once I had opened it and let it "air" somewhat. I purchased the white, but they are still a little yellow (after all, so is honey). However, they melted clear and hardened back up as a white. I will need to work with it a lot more to figure out how best to use it and the temperature for melting and working with it. But, I think it is a good quality, they are easy to work with as pellets, and I will probably buy more.

Seemed fine.
These seemed fine. I have never worked with beeswax before so I don't have anything to compare them with. They smelled a little like a farm and not all of the wax beads melted but not enough to cause problems.

Bee-utiful base for lotions and mess-free!!
I bought these pellets to make homemade lotion and I was not disappointed at all. They come in tiny smooth beadlike pellets that melted easily over the stovetop in a water bath. I read one review earlier about how it leaves a "horrible stench" but for the price and my personal time constraint, I took a risk and bought them anyways. Fortunately, there was no stench at all - not even a trace of a slightly bad smell so maybe that reviewer got a bad batch. In fact, using it with my home made lotion recipe makes them smell heavenly and I always get compliments for my soft hands and the light fragrant smell whenever I use my lotion. I had to melt them down and I didn't do it straight in a pot because I didn't know how much of a cleaning nightmare it would be so I set it in a stainless steel bowl inside a steaming pot of hot water and it worked beautifully. The pellets are a creamy yellowish white color but they melt to a pearly white.I melted it and mixed it with coconut oil and added a teaspoon of lavender oil for my homemade lotion and refrigerated about 12 mini lotion bars for 1 hour. Once I took them out, they were completely set and were a beautiful creamy-white with a smooth consistency and I felt great about giving them away as favors. I wrapped them up in wax paper with a tie and they held their shape in room temperature. If it gets hotter in the summer months, I'm not sure if the lotion bars will hold up their shape but I think adding cocoa butter will help with that.Because of how easy it is to melt the pellets and the neutral base it provides, I will probably keep buying these because it's such a great foundation for lotions and candles. I would recommend these for anyone who doesn't want to be chipping away at a block of beeswax and prefers to use smaller quantities that can be easily measured out.
