SO FLIPPING PRETTY
YES, this is a true blue tea! I let it steep for about 8 minutes and the color is vibrant. Add a squeeze of lime or lemon and it really does turn purple! The flavor does taste like peas but it's barely there if you add the citrus and simple syrup.

It's a fun tea to make
It's fun to watch the water turn purple, the teas itself dosnt have much of a flavor, you are better off adding some lemon into it to add some extra taste.

Great for color changing cocktails!
As a bartender I am always looking to try something different and this is an awesome product. I make a cup of this tea and mix it with a cup of sugar to make a butterfly pea flower simple syrup. I use it in my "magic margaritas" by adding an oz of the simple and 2 oz of tequila into a rocks glass and in a sidecar I add lemon and lime juice as well as triple sec. Take it to the table and it makes for a wonderful tableside presentation turning from deep blue to bright pink with a simple pour and stir! Magical!!! It reacts with anything acidic to make for a neat color changing effect.

HORRIBLE smell
i have never wrote a review and i feel terrible about leaving a bad one, but good lord. i opened the bag and immediately gagged. it smells like a rotting body, i am not exaggerating. after steeping for 5 minutes the tea had only gone a little blue and had no flavor, just the terrible smell. i don’t know if i just got a bad batch or if it’s supposed to be like this but these were really disappointing.:( i still can’t get the smell out of my nose

Have noticed a calming effect
Not sure if it's the fact that it's a very pretty blue (scientifically proven to induce a calming effect in people based on several studies) or if the tea itself has a calming effect, but it has definitely helped me deal with a recent increase in stressors. You can get up to 6-8 cups out of it as long as you remember to store the tea bag in the fridge. I have a tiny mason jar I keep it in. Heat water to a lukewarm temperature, just slightly cooler than your skin temp (85-90F) and leave the tea to steep for 1-3 mins. I like mine a little on the warmer side with a teaspoon of lavender syrup, but you can have it without any additions. It tastes like a green tea or a mint tea, but without the bitterness.

Wow
You ever think, what does the water taste/smell like after boiling the potatoes for mashed potatoes? Yup, right here. Maybe more like…hear me out…If butterflies worked out and they had little gyms everywhere like a LIFETIME OR Gold’s and there was a huge pile of sweaty butterfly towels just chillen with the AC off because it broke in the middle of a Texas summer on 1604 going any direction during traffic hours. P.s traffic hours in San Antonio is 7:00am-8:31ishpm.I mean, I love this tea and how it makes me feel. I drink it before bed because for some reason, it relaxes me. Maybe it’s the thought of all those butterflies working out so hard to create this taste that keeps me up. Oh dang it…that’s why butterflies fly all dumb…they are all so jacked that each flap knocks them off course and the ones that just got done working out are the ones that hit your cars because they was like, I don’t even care. It was leg day…take the wheel dudes formally known as Prince…and that’s why it turns the COLOR PURPLE WHEN YOU ADD LEMON JUICE!!
