When you buy a product like this there's one thing you want more than anything else: that they are an exact replacement for the original brand name product. These accomplish that goal. They are in every way identical to the original Bogen plates. They don't seem cheaply made and the material seems fine. Very satisfied.

I think it is good overall and if I didn't have to tweak it a little to make it fit properly, I would have given it a 5. Overall, it works as I desired and fits the Manfrotto tripod decently well. I am using it for a pair of large binoculars on a special mount mechanism and it works.

So far I've noticed no real functional difference over my genuine Manfrotto release plates in my Manfrotto bases. I have had other cheaper plates that did require some sanding/grinding to get a proper fit, but these fit without issues.

I bought these two because I have a telephoto lens and when using it, I fix the camera on tripod by the lens foot. I lost the original plate, while the second one was not the best one. It's edges were kind of rounded making it flimsy and the screw was a little bit too long so it wasn't possible to screw it till the end into the camera so it was always rotating. These the plates have sharp, well defined edges. These fit exactly into my Manfrotto head, without any backlash. The screw's length seems exactly as it should be, so I am able to screw it tight to my camera but also to my lens's foot. I am happy with these for the moment.

I have a Manfrotto Tripod with a Bogen 3160 Head.I found this unit in a Building Clean out, and decided to use it to hold a 60x Spotting Scope.However it was missing a couple of parts. Mainly the Quick-Attach Plate.Read other reviews and decided to try the Harwerrel Quick Release Plate.They are made of a cast metal and are very Heavy, almost 2 ounces each.The plate DOES fit and LOCK into the Bogen Head but it is approximately 0.8 inches to narrow.If you look at the two pictures, you see a Quarter placed between the Plate and the Head.This space allows for the Plate and whatever it is attached to, free movement.The Plate would not come out of the Head, just slide left to right easily.I compared Specs and Dimensions of the Manfrotto and Harwerrel plates, the Manfrotto's are wider and will fill the space in the head.The Harwerrel Quick Release Plate is an economical alternative to the true Manfrotto plates, but not a solid enough connection for use with Expensive, High Quality Optics.I returned the item, and will be purchasing the Manfrotto Plates.
