Deliciously sour and sweet; highly addictive
Edible paper with sour sugar inside.I bought these to show my American husband what my favorite candy was in Belgium. Imagine my surprise to see this is actually from Belgium! These are the only ones I could find on Amazon with sour powder instead of candy pellets. These are super addictive. They melt in your mouth, give you a sour note and a hint of sweetness. Some of the colors seem to taste differently, but not always, keeping you in the hunt for those magical extra tasty ones. They're very low in calories (23 wafers for 100cals or something) so a perfect candy while you're still eating healthily otherwise.I would suggest prepacking them into portions if you are on a diet, as these will otherwise magically disappear into your mouth by the handful. You might wonder why the carton doesn't close entirely when opened: it doesn't need to to keep them fresh, unless you are storing them somewhere very humid. Our cartons didn't survive two weeks, despite ordering two giant cartons, because we kept eating them.My husband who claims he "isn't into candy much" ended up eating over half of these. These came wrapped in plastic, airtight.

Filled with beads, not sour powder.
wasn’t filled with the sour powder. Bought specifically for that, and didn’t revive that. Instead filled with beads that I hate.

I love it
A few people complained the wafer tastes like cardboard and yes it does but the powder inside covers that flavor up. They are actually really good, you have to put the whole wafer in your mouth and chew it up to not get that cardboard flavor. As for the powder being clumped and hard, yes that can happen but it's still perfectly edible. And be sure to put them in a ziplock bag, the wafers are made of rice paper which absorbs moisture very easily.

Deliciously fun old-school candy
These little candies are delightful. The wafer casing sort of dissolves and has almost no flavor but the prize is within- the powder is pleasantly sour/sweet, similar to a Pixie Stick, and it becomes strangely fun to crack them open/slowly dissolve them/bite them in half. 'And That' is the only store I've seen sell the sour powder variety in my area and they're almost $3 for a very small bag. The price here is still a little steep but these are a family favorite so I'd say it's worth it every time.

These have powder versus beads
I bought these for my mother-in-law who absolutely loves them. She ate them all the time when she was a youngster, and now she is in her 80s and craves them. This product makes her happy so I am happy! Now I learn that these candies have the powder versus the beads inside, and Mom prefers the beads.

Best to order from Amazon and not that PA Dutch company!
I placed an order a month ago with the PA Dutch people and never received product, when I contacted them, they just refunded my money with no explanation; when I asked why, they said they emailed me about a delivery conflict; when I asked what email they used, they refused to respond. Lesson learnt: they are crooks, do not order from them, other people have had similar issues.Amazon is awesome, I placed an order on Monday and it arrived yesterday (Tuesday)!. These wafers are fantastic and takes me back to childhood times, delicious, tangy and that Styrofoam shell is mind boggling. I recommend you let them melt in your mouth!
