Sturdy, thin: Don't save it for fish, use it for everything!
Love this. I use it for everything (in stainless steel pans, not non-stick). Fried egg? Burger? The wide slots drain the maximum amount amount of fat back into the pan, not on my plate. It's sturdy enough to handle all average use, and is no prima dona. The thinness of the edge slips under your food easily. Yep, the handle could be smoother, but at $8.00 - if I cared - I could quickly sand it myself! I leave it as is, the slight roughness means that even if I get oil on my hands, the spatula will not slip. Like all of my wooden utensils, the handle will last best with a quick oiling every few months. It's so light weight and cheap that I toss it in my suitcase if I'm going to do any cooking on vacation, too - either in kitchenettes or camping. The only limitation is that the handle is short - if I'm cooking over a fire that means the pan has to be removed from the fire before using it. I'm a compulsive cook - and after 60 years of cooking I've used the best and the not so good. This is a perfect tool - not flashy, not fancy, not expensive - and I've never found better for simple functionality. I've bought several - like my favorite cheap spurtles (the Baderke skinny), I give them away frequently - and my friends love them too. If you want elegance, this isn't it. If you want function and price, this is a huge winner.

Another great cooking utensil.
I always wanted a flat spatula as I do omelettes quite regularly. I cook on cast iron and this spatula works perfectly - it gets under without pushing the eggs. I’m going to try it when I BBQ hamburgers and when I toast the buns. And it’s not plastic.

Great kitchen tool that beats your regular spatula!
Read article recommending a fish spatula for flipping eggs without breaking the yolks so saw this one on a "deal" and decided to buy one for my wife to try. I'd never heard of one before and neither had she. First time she used it cooking she was amazed at how cleanly she was able to separate and flip the food. She now uses this spatula over her regular one for all kinds of food prep be it eggs, fish or battered chicken etc. The knife edge helps to easily get under the food so you can lift or flip it with minimal damage to the coating. Makes separating the skin on fish a breeze. The angled blade is a nice feature which makes easier to position under the food and keep your hand away from the hot pan. This product is well made with just the right amount of blade stiffness and the wooden handle fits in your hand comfortably and should last a long time. I like that the wood was riveted so the handle won't separate over time like other designs. Though she had no problem with the handle, I would have preferred one a little longer. Not a big deal though so I still gave it 5 stars for easy to hold. She loved it so much she asked me to buy her a second one! Highly recommend adding this product to your kitchen tool kit.

Great spatula for cast iron
I wanted a new steel fish spatula for my cast iron skillet, and this one caught my attention because Winco is a familiar brand, and the price is low. This spatula seems great and I expect it to last a long time. Cleaning is easy, I put the end in the pan while boiling water and soap after. (This is the same way I clean my cast iron)

Perfect turner for everything
I don't use nonstick pans but most of my cooking tools are silicone. Silicone turners never seem to work, I needed an alternative. I now use this perfect little turner for everything from eggs to fish to pancakes. I use it daily and it's held up well. The size is great, I like that it's flat, it's all turner and not all handle. It takes the place of four spatulas, it's a bargain.

Great price for a great well-designed tool for fluffy omelettes and pancakes too!
Just ordered and received two of these. Used right away for omelettes and DH was very pleased with the ease of use. If the rounded end is pushed under the food first, you get a long diagonal space to pick up the soft food that makes it easier to flip without breaking. Its edge is beveled, which makes it easier to push under food than with a more blunt or thick spatula. It looked a little "wiry", and I thought it would be flimsy, but it feels neither flexible nor "weak" for weights up to that of a three-egg omelette or 8" pancake. The metal portion is deeper at the base than the top and sides and is embedded into the wooden handle and secured with 2 rivets, and I don't think there will be any issues with it bending with the above mentioned food weight, or coming apart. If the top were say 3/4" deep instead of being barely 1/4", it would perhaps make it easier to both push under food, and handle to clean the top edge better. There could be an engineering reason for its design, not sure. I use a brush to get any stuck food off quickly without it affecting my fingers or nails. There are plenty of metal edges, and although they are completely smooth and flat with no ridges, it still needs careful handling while running your fingers along them while hand-cleaning. After having read reviews from fellow users, I know to keep them clean without soaking too long for fear of rust. I purchased two so we can alternate and keep them from getting too much wear. Hope to get good long use out of them. Overall great price for good sturdy product with a great design for just this use.
