except where as others have noted, the unit doesnt sit properly in the jar, and slips around. Otherwise it keeps the butter at an almost perfect temperature for spreading.

Such an amazing thing to have! Too bad I haven’t heard about it earlier. Thinking of buying another one so I have one for salted butter as well. I saw in some reviews that it holds a pack of butter, actually it holds 125 g (half a pack)

Works very well. The butter lasts ages and is always at the right consistency.

I was disappointed to find that the lid doesn't fit flush to the base properly and is slightly warped round the rim of the lid. Little flies can get in. An expensive product when it works. A disappointment when paying good money for something not well made. A great concept for keeping butter out of the fridge though. Just wish it worked better!

I bought this butter bell to make butter last longer while keeping it soft. It works. The principle is simple: pack the butter into the upper bowl of the lid, pour a small amount of water into the container, and slide the upper bowl of the lid into the container. The water creates a seal -- the butter remains soft (room temperature) and lasts much longer. The butter bell is not just a simple solution for keeping a small quantity of butter ready for use, it is the best solution.

As long as you’re changing the water regularly, you should have 0 issues with the butter bell! Keeps butter perfectly fresh on the counter for toast and easy access when cooking. Wish I had this years ago!
