This album certainly put me in a trance. An amazingly scandalous album. Highly recommend this album to anyone with an interest in 'dark' themes of music. Another Madonna classic that I highly recommend.

First song coming from Madonna's so called "dirty" period. As I mentioned in my other review, the LP itself is one of her best 'till today. The title song is what one could expect: a little bit raunchy text, hypnotising music and scandalous video. And the remixes? Well done. My favourite are: album edit (yep, that's right, in this case the edited version is as good as album one) Kenlou B-boy Mix - used some time later during her "Girlie Tour" Underground Club Mix - smooth and enjoyable Madonna's in my jeep mix - kind of chilli', relaxing Nice item for every fan of Madonna. PS. It's a pity that we had to wait more than 10 years for a mix-masterpiece of this song (technically) in a shape of "Erotic", presented during COADF Tour.

this is from the Album Erotica. its a great song and wasn't given the recognition it deserved due to its sexual content and Madonna's other ventures (SEX book) at this time. it's highly underrated but is an amazing and rare song! To me its one of Madonna's career highlights!

Great song

In my opinion most of the music in Madonna's long career has been extremely unremarkable. Poor productions of poor songs. Until suddenly this weird high point with two fabulous songs: 'erotica' and 'justify my love', and their hot, glamorous, cheeky accompanying videos and maxi-singles. The songs are dark, sleek, sensual, electric, human; they have desire, confidence, heat, need, funk. Here are all versions of erotica, and all of similar lengths. There is no stand-out mix:the interest is in the variety. The whole maxi-single stands just under 40 mins, and is far better value than the LP of the same name, where 'erotica' was far and away the stand-out track. Let your imagination run riot, and these grooves will get you in a spin. Soon after it was back to poorer stuff for Madonna--until the recent peak again of 'Confessions': but that's another story....

The whole Erotica era is my favourite phase of Madonna's career and Erotica is my favourite single and album from that time. The lyrics and music from this single do "push the envelope", but this is all part of what Madonna was exploring at the time. Erotica was a brilliant single, but this remix cd single of Erotica adds another dimension to the song. This Cd is a must for those who agree that this was one of the best era's of Madonna's career.

I have followed Madonna's work since Holiday and Borderline. Most of her stuff is marginal at best, however, I respect her work more than most self-proclaimed music critics. Some of her earlier songs that I did like quickly became dated and intolerable to listen to now (the Immaculate Collection era). Then came the Ray of Light. An excellent piece of work in collaboration with William Orbit. This single contains Erotica (WO 12 Inch), which must represent the first meeting of these two minds. I highly recommend this single if you like Ray of Light, the song Erotica, or William Orbit. The WO 12 Inch is well worth the price of this CD,and the other mixes are not without some merit. Beware if buying this CD used: There is an Erotica single with the same cover, which only contains the original version and an instrumental. Make sure you get the one with the "Remixes" on it.

Fans sollten hier sofort zugreifen, alle einzeln erhältlichen MCDs (...sowas von angeblich vergriffen) werden oft hier und da zu unmöglichen Preisen angeboten. Diese Import-Edition zum fairen Kurs kann ich nur jeden Madonna-Fan empfehlen !
